    Personally wouldn't fit an Alpha.

Whether to fit a combi or not is up to you and your hot water usage, along with the flow rate/pressure of your cold mains

hot water useage is not high as we all use the shower rather than a bath, mind you thats 4showers a day.
whats the reason not to fit an alpha m8??

Hi: Alpha doesn't spring to the top of many RGIs' lists.....expensive spares (and you'll need them;)).

Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
You get condensing combi boilers, and condensing regular boilers. Condensing boilers are the most efficient.
  • how big is your house?
We went for a condensing combi when we replaced 20 year old trad boiler [1200 btu?] and got rid of our hot water storage cylinder in May. The replacement is a big gloworm combi. Been really impressed with it. Heats up rads v speedily, and because it has a high flow rate it runs showers faster than the pumped system used to. And gas consumption has gone down. [which was the idea as lpg has gone thru the roof]

    Yes.

My cousin had one fitted a couple of years back, not by me I hasten to add. Her partner wouldn't pay my prices!

9 warranty call outs in less than a year, with a 3-4 day wait for parts each time.

I would advise at least a 28/30Kw combi. Always size the combi for your HW, not the heating needs for the property.
