If you are handy sewing you could make a pretty, girly wheat bag, you know the type you heat up in the microwave and use instead of a hot water bottle.

How would i make one of these do you need special wheat for them?? x

  • How about a magazine subscription which you can pay via direct debit and often if you take out a subscription at this time of year you get wonderful free gifts, the first dd instalment would only be a few pounds so that would then leave you the majority of your £35

I bought a couple of bean bags from car boot sales. I wanted the beans to make into lap trays, but you could buy them to re-cover. Don't think I paid more than a couple of £s for each one. I live in an area where car boots are held year thru tho-unsure if all areas do?
  • Theres some great ideas on this thread.

Do you have "The Works" store near you? They have cheap little craft/glitter things, nice books etc that are quite cheap.

Pound shop is great for pink hair band, makeup (to dress up),

How about make your own bath bomb set. You can buy the ingredients cheaply & Im sure a girl of 9 will love it. Just need citric acid (can usually get from the little corner shops dependning on where you live), barcarbonate of soda (from supermarket. You can take off the label & make a pretty one), food colouring & essential oils (but my OH has used flavourings with his group of kids & it has the same smell). If you check out oldstyle board there should be recipes for it.
What about a scrap book. Or throw away camera with her own photo album.

I love the voucher idea. My fondest childhood memories is spending time with my mum either going on daytrips (didnt have to be to a theme park, just a different place or a museum) or doing craft things.

    Have a wonderful xmas!!

    sock monkey!

    everyone loves a sock monkey
and you could make it almost for nothing
    ^ That!

My friends LOVE my sock monkeys and said they would be absolutely thrilled to recieve one. So much so they were offering me a tenner for one (they cost me two quid or thereabouts to make). Im not charging them obviously as they are my friends but it seems these sock monkeys are very much loved in general! Im sure she would love it! :) If you can get some cheap cello, wrap it in that and tie it up with a ribbon. You dont need amazing sewing skills - mine are hand sewn when I hadnt sewn in years and they look fine :)

I want someone to make me one :( But its not going to happen!
Going to enjoy making them for others :D may keep one Ive made sometime, getting really attached to them. My first one is for my brother as I cant bear it to leave my house! So my brother is having him for xmas so I can make sure he's well looked after! :D
