Spot on fermi, I always assumed people who post a lot, across the forum like outer might be subscribing. How else would they know where they've posted. So I was suggesting that they could use the option of checking their subscriptions instead of searching for posts for the time being.
Hello Meher the mysterious (as Adey calls you!) :santa2:
No! :rotfl: Technical incompetent here! Tried subscribing and all I got was loads of emails which I only check once a day anyway:( Some kind soul tried to explain a better way to do it........:o:o
Just have to check those little arrow things in the left hand box, for now.0 -

and what does ami say, pm me and tell me all about that; nevermind if it's good, bad or gratuitious curse :snow_grin0 -
it's weekend and maybe searching own post isn't so much of an emergency; if threads or new posts weren't showing up at all, it would've been a different issue altogether
but new threads are NOT showing up at all, and haven't been since Friday morning.
Go on your regular forum and search for something very common like "the". The top thread in the search results will have been started just after 10am on Friday morning.0 -
sorry Outer, genuinely sorry, I assumed you knew about subscriptions. And I'm the same; I tried subscriptions and it simply wasn't for me. I lose interest in most threads anyway to follow them ceremoniously. So I just do search from my own profile if at all I have any intention to return to any thread.

No need for any apologies! pm'd you0 -

I have it set like this under Edit Options.
Means that I subscribe to all threads I post on, but without emails unless I decide to change that option.
Works for me, but as said may not be useful for everyone.
It also can't help with all the the problems caused by a non functional/updating forum search. For example, can't tack down all the recent posts from spammers while it's broken.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
