I do think it s about entertainment and Hamilton does provide more than other drivers and of course has a 'persona' that he plays up for the media and of course their is the racism that he suffers. The first season when he blew the championship shows that he doesn't have the win at all costs temperment but it would be very boring if every driver was a faceless automaton.I think....0

Anyways, radio silence off for a moment but the pain was/is a kidney infection that hasn't quite cleared yet so i'm not in a happy place.
hope everyone else is well etc etc.
Oh you poor thing. I'm told that's excruciating.I hope you are feeling A LOT better now.
we've had a HORRIFIC electricity bill. I can't quite believe it tbh its so awful. I'll be calling them tomorrow to ask if its really true.
Meanwhile, I guess I have to stop using the immersion every day. second day bathing and dishes
Better news is that my flat tyre was repaired for free.Still, would rather have had half the electricity bill and paid for the tyre!

lir, have you checked all the meters, even if they came to read them? My MIL had a terrible electric bill, so much so she called up in tears terrified about how she would get the money together and being cut off. When we had a look in the cupboard she had one of the old meters with the dials. The reader from the electricity board was new and hadn't seen one before. The first dial was between two numbers but not quite on the larger of the two and all the other digits were towards the end. This meant she had a reading of something like 7987 instead of 6987. It's worth checking to see whether they have done something similar to you as when we called up the and explained (the revised readings were entirely in line) they fully understood what had happen and had seen it before. ETA: the reader also had trouble realising that not all dials follow the same rotation. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hope it is a mistake LIR but if not, might it be worth your while to get an energy monitor? - they are quite fun to play with and do highlight exactly where the money goes.Murphy was an optimist!!!0

Dishes = kettle. I used to leave it two days and use 1-3 kettles. You can rinse everything in cold water/leave it in soak, so when you get the kettle going it's an easy job.
Bathing: when I was a kid it was the norm to have a bath once a week, on bath night (usually Sundays).0 -
At 8.15 tonight I received an email "super script ... update .... no charge..... does loads more". I'd been expecting that email and expecting them to want to charge for it, but it's a free upgrade (with a 7 day download limit, after that it's $27). So I clicked ... and it started downloading.
43MB. It's now 11:20 and still has nearly an hour remaining. It says it's downloading at 3-4kb/second. Looking at my internet connection monitor I've averaged 50kbps (dial up speed) this session0 -

It wasn't uncommon when I was a kid too. Its funny how that social parametre is so different. But it wouldn't kill (most) people. I get really mucky....when my back is bad I have to lie on the ground to weedand then of course the animals. But I can certainly strip wash every second day or so with a kettle. Main annoying thing will be hair. Its a whole different world when you have hair that cannot be brushed....to get it presentable involves getting it wet again!
Yeah, kettle dishes. I hate kettle dishes, but it might well come to that.
I missed csalling them before they closed yesterday so DH is calling them today, with a metre reading just in case.0 -

I mean, does it look/feel real, but scarey? Or is there the chance they guessed it based on the previous owners?
And how big is big? £2000? £200?0 -

It was estimated. But estimated and 20 x more than our average estimated bill!
also, its on a business tarriff. Our electricity doesn't need to be on business rates: its not used for business at all, and we tell them this every month since we moved in and they say they'll sort it. We also set up a transfer to another electricity provider when we moved here that never happened. I think its time to stop being a bit laissez faire about this!0 -
With prices rising 20% you may be better off prepaying your electricity if you can afford it (on nice interest free payment terms from your supplier)I think....0
