    but they do have fleas.

I LOVE hedgehogs. First thing we caught in the live cat trap here was a HUGE hedgehog. I was so excited, poor little thing.

I'm pretty sure that hedgehog fleas can't live off people. I don't know about cats, dogs, seahorses, llamas etc.

He asked if I was happy to have them despite my headache. I said "Two kids playing quietly downstairs, four kids playing quietly downstairs - doesn't make any difference. I'll be upstairs under a duvet catching up on some internet forums"

He looked very shocked and surprised. It turned out he thought I'd said "catching up on some internet !!!!!!" and thought that wouldn't really be my sort of thing. :rotfl:
    I think....

I want a carpet that looks like this rug:

It's like a Hay Pinocchio Rug.

You can buy a round one that's 3 metre diameter. Nearly a carpet.

Make your own..... I used to do rug making when I was a kid. I can do the rug bit, but I was never shown how to finish the edges off.... but it's something you can do without even looking, e.g. when you're lying under the duvet, or watching TV. Even when you're sitting at the station for 10 minutes waiting to pick up his nibs.

Hook through the canvas, put the wool in, pull it half way back through, then twist/pull to pull the ends through and it's a tuft. Repeat until finished.

Make one to fit the stairs, using old fashioned stair rods to keep it in place. You could even do it in pieces I bet... so do 2-3 treads at a time.

Edit: Or you could make little stair-sized individual canvases and fit them with some rubber back and glue/similar/whatever. They'd be easily manageable then, small ovals, or rectangles.

Why didn't you just pick it up? Hedgehogs don't bite AFAIK at least the ones I've picked up haven't.

They are usually hopping with fleas, though?

Whilst it's illegal to disturb the bats, is there any law against your ma getting a cat, maybe two? Maybe just borrowing them for a week?

My mother has a cat - my Mr. Yossie, who my Dad calls Chairman Miour, or Pol Puss, because although pure white and wearing a noisy collar, he kills ruthlessly.

He doesn't do bats, though. Just as well, for his health.

OMG, I've just done that colour test thingy and I'm so bad I think I might be colour blind!*

*This shouldn't be too much of a surprise as both my dad & son have the same form of colour blindness, but I thought I was ok :(
