But I want it for the staircase.Rugs might result in broken necks!
Even easier. Get two/three cut and whipped into a runner. Yummy
I want a Pinocchio rug and I liked your bird light too. And your milky kitchen.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I LOVE the bats. Bats do good and useful things here, we want them to stay, but we're going to reach a compromise with them over whereabouts.
Couldn't agree more - they aren't that delicate, anyway. Or at least, my parents' weren't, as the changes to the loft that were bound to kill them all didn't bother them a bit....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

As for tablecloths, we only use the table once a year for Xmas Day - and we've never owned a linen tablecloth.
When I grew up, we didn't use napkins every day or anything, just for Sunday lunch, and when my Granny was staying.
OTOH, polishing napkin rings was great fun, and gloriously messy (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Didn't feel guilty putting the heating on either. The thermostat said 15 degrees!
It's well nippy here in the centre of town, too....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
My birthday treat was supposed to be fixing the PC (hard drive died a week ago) and kitchen TV (AV sender sseems to have died). Instead the combi oven died and took out the plug socket at the same time (checking the socket then killed the kitchen music player).
Took the later to bits and fitted new internal fuses (not the right fuses but close enough) and they seemed to work but combi oven has just died again so we are using the spare that we borrowed when the turntable failed before and it is very sad as we really love that oven and they don't make them any more.
So I still have the pleasure of fixing the PC and the AV sender to come when I next find some free time.
Also our evening is ruined by the local church putting on a performance with the girls school scheduled for 6-7 on a Sunday evening (performers to arrive at 5.30) - who, with kids, does this work for on a Sunday? I can report though that DD's were the most talented (well apart from the ethnic Chinese who played a Beethoven violin duet) and by far the prettiest.I think....0 -

Tastes like ours are rare and quirky.
ATM we are debating painting a gold stripe just above skirting level in the new pale blue hallway. And painting the back wall on the ground floor gold. (pale silvery gold, not hard yellowy gold). then, with a colourful rug (I love the runner idea but it would cost a fortune, my fiame/bargello- missoni style curtains (when I track down the fabric) in similar colours to the pinocchio rug and the birdy lamp (lightshades?)...one room done (even if temporarily, the only thing that would need redoing by us is the paint work, and n a few years that'll be tired anyway (when we redo will be in F &B cabbage white I think ...the colour now is like borrowed light which is what I was going to use as a blue-white, with all the bright colours, not decided on wood work yet)

edit: thinking about it I know nothing of the history of them...if its not for keeping your napkin personal its got to be some sort of Victorian hink akin to the fishknife. well, I like a napkin, but I'm not prepared to wash it daily!0 -
OMG, I've just done that colour test thingy and I'm so bad I think I might be colour blind!*
*This shouldn't be too much of a surprise as both my dad & son have the same form of colour blindness, but I thought I was ok
how bad is bad, I was 12, and pretty disappointed with that. I then noticed if I changed the angle of my screen it all looked different!0 -

I was the child who asked publicly "Mummy, why do we always have a tablecloth and milk jug when Granny comes?"Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
