Happier stuff. I've been avoiding public dog walking for ages. People don't let dogs play any more which my normally socialised dogs don't ''get'' and then get frustrated and I was at risk of them becoming not normally socialised. Mine play vigorously but nicely with other dogs and quickly get the message if something isn't interested, but owners shouting about dogs running fast etc was confusing them and stressing me. We have enough space to walk them here, and they come out on leads with me to places.
Today I decided to tak them out before the big bank holiday rush, but when we got to the ''park'' it was really busy. I stalked off in the only dog free direction but someone with three dogs soon came along the same path. To our JOY she is a ''dogs like to socialise'' person too, and big dog and dog dog had a ball playing with three other dogs, then some one else's dog too. Just how dog walking used to be, friendly and fun for everyone. They are both now ''doggo'' on their sofas. The other walker told me when she walks and said she'd be delighted if my dogs were there to play with hers.

That's so good to hear. I don't get people who don't let their dog play with other dogs. It's a basic doggy 'human' right dammit. Our westie is the same. All he wants is play play and play some more. He used to be a bit rough at first but has become much more mannered now. After a prolonged playing session, we come home, he slurps half a bowl of water and then assumes the position as in post 7147Dreaming about that cute bichon frise he met in the park probably...

Sounds like you need to start a group for socialising dogs locally. Have meetups0

I managed to "trash" one of my other domains.... kind of at a 2 minute loose end, so decided to change a venue in the events manager - all went well, but my eye was drawn to the link "new version, click to upgrade" - and I stupidly did .... and now it's all broken
So, I have an events calendar that's empty unless you go back one month, then come forward - and if you then click on an event it tells you there's nothing going on ... how annoying for any visitors... I think I probably only get spammers on that one though, so time to sort it out.
Other "main site" I want to split/move over is still awaiting DNS propagation - that's like a "change of address" process that takes a few hours before the site's visible. I wanted to build the site first, then change the DNS, but the options I had available were all unsuitable for that, so I decided to just bite the bullet and do the DNS first, not last. This means: site will first appear empty, rather than full.... which means I need to work on it faster probably. Thinking it through, I could have done it differently, but it's done now. Or I could get the site assigned to the new host, then point the servers back once the host believes I own the domain name.
It's not rocket science, but sometimes it takes some thinking through if it's not stuff you do more than once every 3 years.
Rather than being here I probably should be registering for a new ad server... but I'm a bit tired and lazy to be honest...0 -

Sounds it to me! Seems its a skill in itself and maybe you should market that.
A friend went to see a web designer who was really excited at what she does and its potential to sell online and then quoted her thousands to get her up and running online.
Another friend had an idea and has been learning about google ads from scratch. She bought some google pay per click somethings and her ad started appearing on the right hand side of the google search page. Then she realised that all the people clicking through were from Africa and only staying on her site for seconds. So it looks like she has been scammed in someway. Google are looking into it apparently.
So, if not rocket science, its still very clever.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. They do have a website, y'know!
In any case, our junior clerk's in London, no shortage of JL places here (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Tough for you and your sister, too. MH issues like that are hard to deal with, in relation to your earlier comment. Sometimes you have to disengage, if you can't cope.
A very dear friend of mine hasn't spoken / had contact with / etc her mother for 6 years now. Mother doesn't know that she's married and has a baby daughter, or even which town she lives in.
That sounds harsh, but the reality is, my friend just can't cope with her mother's mental health - bad manic depression, and no insight that she's even ill. So she had to back off....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Really? My parents' border collies have lots of doggie mates, who they race round with cheerfully....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
