Its amazing what a lot of flattery can do for a woman. I'm in decent ish cloths with washed hair, make up and perfume on today again. Now I'm wondering whether to go out to peruse the local charity shops and look for a cheap hairdresser. Bit worried about a cheap hairdresser....I love Aveda hair dyes they suit my hair and never dry out or fade. The nearest Aveda is half the price of my last one, but still, its a fair whack for hair.0

I've just started his new book - Extreme Rambling - in which he sets out to walk the length of the wall/fence between the West Bank and Israel to see what it is like living on both sides. Heavy subject so works better for me when with a bit of humour laced in. Somehow humour in such areas makes the situation come across as more poignant. Have only read about the first 35 pages, but so far, so good.
I am also reading Peston's 'Who Runs Britain?', but I have to be honest, it's interesting but I'm not keen on his style. As a researcher, the fact that he starts with an opinion and then builds on it, rather than going in with an open mind and seeing what comes up irks me somewhat.
Plus I'm also reading the Upside of Irrationality - finally - that's my bedtime book and thoroughly enjoyable. I find I'm going to bed 1/2 an hour early just to read it.
Glad you're now getting into the right book Viva!;)
Even more glad that you're enjoying it!:)
Mark Thomas, I do like, though in small doses. He's touring a stand up show of his walking the wall, which has gone down very well. Obviously a very intelligent guy, well thought of, with a sense of right & wrong. I would like to see one of his stand up shows, & if I had time, read one of his books. I'd like to see him smile a bit more too!
Peston - clearly knowledgeable, but on screen doesn't come across as the greatest communicator. I don't mind his blogs though, frequently interesting. Less certain that I could go with a book of his. At the same time, think I'd find it a bit refreshing to see an opinion book. I've read a lot of facts book, repeating similar stuff. That said, I agree completely that it can give the impression of inflexibility, & an unwillingness to consider alternatives. The Upside of Irrationality tells us of the dangers of such behaviour.:cool:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I think if you spend money on nothing else girly at all then hair is the best place to invest it.
EDIT: She says as she looks at the mop in the mirror and swiftly makes a phonecall!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Anybody know of any fabulous hotel offers, including dinner that might be available on Sunday? In a nice place. I'm tired of doing nothing for our anniversary.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
