I couldn't make a decision about tiles. Oh no. White is my limit... beyond white the fear of getting it horribly wrong takes over.0

Oh, should mention: Lovely, bright, dry, sunny day, negligible breeze. Blue skies.0

I saw this and thought of LIR/Dave... http://www.helpx.net/
Read through some of the examples to see where your needs might fit. e.g. one says they're offering camping/sofa if it's cold.
Basic deal is: they work for a few hours/day in exchange for board and lodgings.0 -
more rain overnight and sunshine this morning. i can see noticeable growth on plants.
radishes germinated overnight (from a week ago though) and i must plant out the sweet peas, sweet corn. And got beans ready for interplanting.
And need to clear some more space for squashes.0 -

The hosting places look really nice in general...I'm not sure our work would be entertaining enough.Much of what needs doing is in the garden, not directly agricultural/smallholding....mainly ornamental, it feels a bit cheeky....getting labouring help for almost nothing.

I did see one that seemed to be offering 5 hours work in their farm shop, which did seem a lot.
Maybe you could offer "2 days to dig a big hole for me, you can camp for a week in our field and we'll chuck in a cooked breakfast". So you can make the work 'worth' as much, or as little as you want. You might figure that B&B is worth £25/night, then offer a week's B&B (£175) for 2 days' digging (10 hours), equating to 'pay' of £17.50/hour
Here's somebody that's tried it (including a bad experience). http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/forum/self-sufficiency/helpx-free-accomodation-worldwide0 -
It's been getting colder and colder (and windier) throughout the morning - and here's the rain again. Big raindrops.0

Still no rain, it missed us completely last night...garden desperately needs it!
Woke up with a start at 4am as the cat decided he was going to do some acrobatics and brought something down with a crash, didn't think my racing heart was going to calm down, gave me the scare of my life that did.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

If you're staying in it what is right for you is enough.....forget taste. We're thinking of v. pale limestone for the main bathroom and possibly a yellower stone for the first floor guest en suite...(but not sure because its overdone badly which is of putting). Taste for our bathroo will be bolder...the kind of picture we put up here and giggle about people thinking it makes their house worth more. DH and I saw a mobile phone shop in the airport in Milan this week that was ocean blue and v. sparkly, we couldn't work out what it was though...and the shop people didn't know either. DH would like that though. I' not a blue person, but if it came in different colourways maybe we'd reach a comprimise over it. I want a bathroom to feel ''not of this place''. I want to close the door and feel clean, but also both relaxed and happy. We're even thinking about ''star'' inset lights in a darker ceiling for the bathroom. Now, I accept most people would think it hellish, but for us....
I want this sort of tile in my kitchen splash back I think

to feel a bit milk bottley, so it still feels sort of dairyish. If I opt for tiles that is. I'm also considering stone (but nothing too granitey) and recycled glass Its a bit ''sparkly'' but I'd have ticking blinds and curtains to pull it back to earth a bit, and painted wood ''units''. Ther is also a heavyish fireplace going in there, and north windows over kitchen area (south windows by eating area but no tiles over there) so keeping it light and light bouncy. It has a flag floor we're hoping to keep.0 -
