4'6" isn't much for two adults. Just 2'3" each. Add on the fact you won't wish to be sleeping on the final 3" and that gives you 2' each... and if the other person's a bit of a fattie then it's instantly a disaster.
Being single, this isn't an issue for me
I had a double, for about 17 years. Great for when you want to read or do paperwork in bed. When I get a house I plan to get a double. I've got a single right now, which is a step up from having slept on a sofa for 3 years when I rented until recently.0 -
It's absolutely bucketing it down now. Fierce rain smelling of rain and freshness. Beating, huge dollops of rain, incessantly.... window is a bottom opener (top hinge) and I just had to pull it closed as there was a bit of splash back from the window sill (even though the rain's coming straight down and not against the window).0

Even if you are both slim that's not much room, I reckon. Especially not if one of you is male. They are born to take up 4 times more room than physically possible....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
You can't do it if you both lie there on your own half. Spooning works or her head on his chest. Knotting legs together IS romantic, but it also holds you in the bed and stops a kicker kicking.0

spits of rain but i need a torrential bucket. although my peas which are still in roottrainers have decided they have had enough and started flowering. oops
i'm feeling a bit *lost*0 -
We have had a brilliant bucket down. Tomorrow I'll be checking the water level in the lagoon. I bet its risen visably
we just moved the chicks in with the big chickens (best done at night when everyone is sleeping or sleepy) and it poured on us all the way. The sound of rain bucketing out of guttering that needs clearing has never sounded so good!

Just had a 2 minute lull, now the rain's started again.
No holidaymakers next door... cleaners came, so I'm guessing they were expecting some (if there's a void there's no urgency to clean on a Saturday between 10-2pm, which is peak time).... maybe they decided to not bother as it's wet.0 -
Just had a weird experience. Just bolted the front door and I felt small, very small. It felt like the door was bigger than usual. As I walked upstairs I felt as if I were 4' tall. Most peculiar.0

Well, I'm single, but that doesn't mean I could comfortably manage with less than 5' - at least not until DD has grown out of wanting to finish the night off with me if she wakes in the middle of the night with bad dreams. If it happens to DS he just goes off to sleep in the other half and causes no problem, but if it's DD she keeps wriggling about all over the place, and frequently ends up diagonally across the middle. One night I only just woke in time to stop myself falling out as she kicked me hard in the small of the back having already gradually pushed me right to the edge while I was asleep. I can't blame her, though, because she's fast asleep when she does it so can hardly be held responsible.
ETA The "upset and don't want to sleep alone" thing has been worse since the accident, unsurprisingly.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Got a queen size at the moment and that's bad enough, especially as I can't sleep if any part of the mrs is touching me. Need my kingsize back. Or separate hammocks. Hammocks are the way forward.
Raining in Richmond too, not buckets but hard enough.0
