She taught me to lipread when I was young, then was horrified as I'd watch football with my Dad. I'm not that good though as I've always had hearing.
Middle son tricked a few audiologists when he was small, I knew his hearing wasn't right but they kept saying it was ok...until one day, the audiologist decided to try something else and covered her mouth when speaking and middle son failed the hearing test.
She had finally worked out that despite middle son only being young, he had learnt the art of lip reading and had been reading the lips instead of listening to the sounds...it was only then that they discovered his hearing capability was very poor...and that they could also do tests designed for older children. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I popped downstairs to turn the telly on for my mum - she loves a bit of singing. Dad had gone out for a paper, so there was no argument.... but then he came back and had to tell us the story of how he couldn't find a paper in the first shop, but got the last one in the second shop ... then he sat and was rustling the paper, so mum couldn't hear/enjoy any of it.
He really doesn't like anybody doing/enjoying anything he doesn't want on the telly.
An argument ensued about not being able to hear - and you then can't hear because of the argument.
I've now turned the telly down and shown mum how to adjust the volume, whether he likes it or not.0 -

No. I gained weight:o and I only had two weeks notice so..not much to plan/do. No dressmaker but a dress I owned - grey- and let out as mush as I could. My something old were Jimmy Choos, my something borrowed and also old my mother's veil (not v old but edwardian), which I wore around my shoulders not over my face, blue embroidered knickers I think, which were also new. I was quite ill at the time, and DH had finals the next day. It was romantic but I want a dress now. I had wanted to get married in the tree cathedral, with the pets there.0 -

Um, well I think this year is our sixth wedding anniversary, so four years notice?....and it would be in the garden here....but a party not another ceremony.:D:D
The year me and hubby split, we had actually made plans to have our marriage blessed on our 20th anniversary (we had been married almost 16 years when we split and nearly 17 years before the divorce became final)....funny how he forgot about that when he said he had not loved me for some time, it had been his idea in the first place! We made it! Not good news for michaels...
I was outside St Pauls when Diana got married. Walking up last minute, I still managed to get a viewing place on the pavement which was about six people deep. There appear to be many more people watching the wedding this time round. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
