Must be similar for extensions. Round here I know of at least 3 people who are extending their kitchens by adding on a conservatory, getting it building regs signed off and then knocking down the wall between the kitchen and conservatory. New regulations on heat retention(?) require that the wall stays up to preserve heat in the main part of the house. Once the sign off is secured the wall can come down making the kitchen/ conservatory open plan.

What happens when they come to sell? Isn't knocking down a wall something you need building regs for? Which they wouldn't have.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Rack of lamb not lambs leg on DTD.

    Amateur. :D

So how many racks does each lamb have? Two?

Heard a story once of a traditional butcher at a country fare claiming that all the meat that he had on display that day came from one single animal that had been hand reared on organic grass, blah, blah, blah....
a little kid piped up, "so why did it have two tongues?"

I see your point, but you could be stocking up on shampoo and deoderent and toothpaste.
I've got a finite life. I bought some shampoo and conditioner Xmas 2008, four bottles at 50p each - I've only just got to the end of those.

I've got enough deodorant and toothpaste already here to last until the end of 2012, bought/stocked up when I saw a good price.

It would be easy for people to get carried away and end up buying stuff just because it's cheap, then getting home and discovering an item's not on the list, or they got the wrong pack. That'd be me.

    I thought that.

The answer is that they state that they did an extension by adding a conservatory onto the kitchen in 2011 and produce the building regs certificate.

If you read the DTD thread in grabbit, they are now discussing the best bargains on freezers to buy to load up with their lamb's racks.

    Heaven!

I haven't indulged in this but I've been to Tesco twice last week although I don't usually shop there. I got a puncture on my way there on Saturday. Thank God for run-flat tyres 'coz I was on a 70mph road.

This sort of thing usually ends before I get to the shop, I thought it was another one of those. I should have taken advantage already but it looks nearly as complicated as spread betting.

I thought it was complicated but it's not that difficult.

Let's do a shop that may have been done today. Buy Persil non bio £12, magnums £2.29, heroes £3.96, pringles £1.99. Total £20.24
The equivalent shop in Asda would have cost Persil £5, magnum £1, heroes £2, pringles £1 = £10.
So you would have saved £10 by shopping at Asda. Because tesco are not cheaper they are giving you double the difference. They email you a £20 voucher tomorrow.

    Rinse and repeat.

    (10 receipts a month per household, £100 a month, £20 a receipt)

Thanks for all the help. Also, on the Finish dishwasher tablets, we go through loads of those. Are the ones on the DTD spreadsheet the ones in the dissolvable packaging or do they come in the little tear-open packets?

The little tear open packets. They also have a £2 voucher in those that will work with a DTD voucher.

One I brought home on Saturday someone had removed the £2 voucher :( You have to be careful tho with this as the DTD vouchers can not split or change given so in your above example oa £20 shop less a £2 dishwasher tabs voucher would only be £20 against which they would not accept a £20 DTD voucher.

Wife and I do 4 checkouts with a DTD voucher per trip (2 each). If you pay cash, don't use a clubcard and use a different email address they have no way of knowing if you have claimed more than £100 per household in a month (or so it is suggested on the thread).

If we weren't having the building work done at the moment we would be in the market for a freezer. I wonder how much marketing budget Tesco will blow on proving they are more expensive than Asda before they admit defeat?

There's a step missing there? 10 receipts x £20 = £200. Is the £100 limit per person or per credit card or per address?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Per household.

So is using fake email addresses, no clubcard, paying in cash and doing multiple claims:
    a) amusing
    b) naughty
    c) breech of terms and conditions
    d) who cares
    e) tesco's fault for not being cheaper
    f) fraud
    g) criminal
    h) illegal
    i) hanging offence
