Excellent service. She kept coming back and asking if everything was OK, smiled every time, and cheerfully fulfilled all the kids' requests - more ice for the jug of water, spoon to eat mashed potato with, etc.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
There are lots round here that have been sstc/available many times but generally it takes 2+ weeks for each cycle so I suspect this one is more an attempt to game the search on right move to get included in 'listed in the last x days' searches.Just found this on Rightmove. What's with all the SSTC-available-SSTC-available-etc?? And why does it say it's got 4 bedrooms when the floorplan only shows 3 (if you can call the third one a bedroom at 7'8" x 6'6")?I think....0

I feel that new builds on a large scale should have requirement to be eco saving...whether its positioning for maximum south facing windows and really good insulation or proper technology for eco value/self sufficiency. In the kind of scale big housebuilders build it would be the cheapest way to do it.
Watching our council battle internally over the eco changes we must include for compliance v the impact it will have on listed buildings is nteresting. IMO, adaptation to new eco technology is much the same as an indoor loo, CH, electrics etc....its just showing the impact of time on the house.
Developments that obtained planning from Sep 2010 have to now comply with level 3 of the code for sustainable homes, obviously it depends on the size of the property but cost to the builder is around 5-10k.0 -

I don't know, but in picture 6 the agent has contrived to make it look like the roof is missing, and in picture 5 no one's been bothered to make the bed properly.
I'm in a room almost as small as that bedroom right now. It's been used as a bedroom, but not by us, as we need two offices0 -

That's interesting (or would be if I knew what that actually meant in terms of building changes/finish).
we're watching the council have a little left hand meet right hand moment over our planning ap, and its just so interesting, but also I continue to lose faith in this local authority when I see how confused, inaccurate and arbitrary everything is.0 -
7'8" x 6'6" is quite common in 1-bed flats as the only bedroom ... and if you're looking at 1-bed flats you're feeling grateful you're not looking at studios.
My bedroom when I was growing up was smaller than that. No room to swing a cat, had to keep the cat downstairs!0 -

That certainly worked for Bradbury. He sold 11 novels, and 44 books of collected short stories. And dozens of plays. And film scrips. Heinlein, though, was productive... he sold 32 novels under his own name, and had dozens of pseudonyms.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I bet if I stuck two cotton reels together and painted them yellow somebody somewhere would want to buy them.... and it's just a question of waiting long enough until somebody does.
That's probably the backbone of my 'business plan'.0 -

Just think yourself lucky you aren't dealing with Mendip!
Saw an interesting communication from them recently, in which they literally didn't know their east from their west. We were a bit nonplussed for a while, wondering what it meant, and secretly thinking, "Surely they can't be that fick?" .....but they were.;)
I remember someone in Planning there telling DW that agriculture, as in 'Agriculturally-tied,' most certainly did not include horticulture. He lived to regret that particular bit of making-it-up-as-we-go-along...:rotfl:
PS. Does anyone know where I can get a couple of cotton reels stuck together? They must be yellow and have 'Kernow' printed on them...0 -
We had lamb twice last week but there wasn't any on the shelf our last 2 visits which was a shame as I had my sister and her family today and we were hoping to show off with lamb...however we did manage J20 (effective £1 for 4), roast chicken (effective half price), potato salad (potatoes 1/3 off, salad cream and mayo effectively free, scallions 50% off), cumberland sausages (free), tomatoes (40% off) a nice bottle of wolf blass wine (51p) and melon and grapes (50% off) and Magnums (effectively -5p each) for afters.
And off course washed up using fairly liquid (50% off) and ran the dishwasher with All-in-one tabs (£3 per packet)
 Mr T.
I'm buying stuff we would buy anyway or stuff that is minus cost. Mostly stuff that will keep.
We have large stocks of Right Guard deodorant, Colgate toothpaste, Finish dishwasher tabs, Radox bath stuff, Persil Bio washing liquid (done this morning).
We've also taken advantage of Smirnoff (1l) for under £6 (grrrr theyve changed the price now), Becks (2x15 bottles) for £8, grapes as mentioned, potatoes, petis pois, king prawns, red salmon, bisto, ribena, kenco decaff, sunscreen, mayo, finest sausages, walkers crisps.... the list goes on and on.....
I love Mr T.
Or more precisely, I love taking them for all I can!
If I do something, I do it properly, so I'm taking them for lots. :j0
