D3mn - and now there's a little yellow icon in the systray advising me that Windows has an update.... which means my PC is unusable until I've installed that. So ... I'll be back later, it takes 10-15 minutes to do that/reboot and get back again (minimum).

ARGHHHHHHHHH! I am watching the Brit awards.Beiber is a self made youtube success and a self taught musician of, like, 29 different instruments.

And I hated him when I thought he was a disney kid.... I wouldn't have believed Beiber fever could have got any more annoying.Just thought I'd get that of my chest with the nice people :D

    Don't know who/what that is.

I googled it ... some lad with a bad hair cut.

"Bieber was born on March 1, 1994"

    I've pants older than that!

Well then you're on my GRRRRRR list too PN :D

I WISH I still had pants that old! (But no, I've put on at least 3 stone since 1994 :))
I should also at this point make it clear that I have 2 daughters, thats the only reason I'm watching etc etc..... but I would be lying- they are viewing it upstairs - I took the stance 'if you want to watch that rubbish go to your room and watch it!' .... and then switched it on in the living room . And now I'm watching BFGW on 4+1. I'm a bad mother and a sad individual :rotfl:

I haven't browsed through here in ages, will have to have a nose back... take it everyone is well & good? :-)

Shorties just an eenie meenie minie mo lover

AFAIK unlike in the US it is theoretically illegal here to copy your CDs on to your mp3 player as the 'license' you buy when you buy a cd only lets you play the music from that physical disc...but then probably only Luddites like me even know what a cd is.

I am getting a new laptop tomorrow!

I had wanted another desktop but mum has a bit of a dislike of them and as they were paying, I went with what I could get and what they were willing to finance.....which turned out not to be too bad a spec.

Been a nightmare week and a half with only one laptop between the 4 of us, I have study work to do plus a TMA, eldest has god only knows how many coursework and homeworks to do for his AS's, middle son has homework and so has youngest...it's been a real fight to get on the laptop and we are all behind in our deadlines.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

This time last year I was staggering around, more drunk than I have ever been, at the Brit awards and hugging Paolo Nutini. Great night but I couldn't drink for six weeks after and every time someone asked me how it was (which was a lot) I felt nauseous.

This year I am back in London, safely tucked in bed and glad I wasn't there. Didn't look so good (although Adele's performance was breathtaking) and my liver simply can't handle it; I suspect my brain would still deny that fact until the following day.

Where did they find Paloma Faith, how well did she murder that song and did she find that outfit in my DD's 'dress up' along with Robbie Williams' trousers?

Yay! Enoy your laptop, Sue. You deserve it. :T

I have spoken to the builder. He hopes to finish plastering upstairs by the end of tomorrow (Wednesday) so it should be ready for painting on Friday afternoon. The downstairs plastering should be finished on Friday ready for painting on Sunday. The removals men arrive on Monday. This is cutting it rather fine. (ETA This is just skimming over plasterboard, not proper full thickness plaster.)

Anyway, I have decided I don't like the colour of my bedroom in the new house. It's the biggest bedroom, and the one with the en-suite, but it's also the only north facing one, and its window is smaller compared with the rest of the room. Currently its walls are a reasonably strong colour - think Air Force blue, and then imagine what Air Force teal might be, IYSWIM. I want something warmer and more light and cheerful - I'm thinking of some kind of primrose yellow - definitely yellow rather than cream, but not too vibrant or overwhelming. So that'll mean painting the whole room rather than just the wall that's being replastered. The plan is for my friend and me to go tomorrow to get little match pots and choose a colour tomorrow afternoon, and then make a start on the walls that aren't being redone.

In other news, I am falling a bit behind on the sorting and decluttering because I was up most of the night with DD with an earache and am not really fully awake today. :( At least I have several friends coming round to help - with the sorting/decluttering as well as with the painting.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'd be surprised if it were even dry by then. I thought you were supposed to wait 3-4 weeks before painting fresh plaster?

In frustration at not being able to work out an mp3 player I've given all those gifted to me to DH ...who never managed to get round to putting music on them for me but now has them full of stuff for himself. we still like cds. I can work them. We also still use tapes:eek:, now that we've got our boxes back. we do, however have a pact not to listen to tapes alone, aware that each play might be the things last we like to make a bit of ceremony over it....have it feel appreciated and loved as it nears its end.
