Sue, take it easy -remember if you don't look after yourself you'll be in no fit state to look after everyone else.

I will do, back from taking eldest to the doctor, his heart murmur which had resolved itself has made a return, so back up with him on Wednesday for an ECG and depending on what that says, another echo and possibly back to see his cardiologist.

Mind you, doctor didn't listen re our concerns about POTS, did a normal exam and declared him fine....POTS cannot be diagnosed from a normal exam, it needs to be a tilt table test and 24 hour blood pressure/heart rate tracking before it can be discounted.

I'm just having a cup of tea and scanning MSE before taking myself up for a sleep...fingers crossed!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

enjoy this coffee I just made :)

    oooh, that sounds good.

Had a dire coffee in Morrisons once....TBH Michaels, I fnd Morrisons fruit very disappointing...but they were my local for so long. I do find it cheaper though, for shops. I tended to buy groceries there (basic store cupboard stuff and washing powders etc), but not fruit or too much veg (green grocers). TBH, we've been to sainsburies a couple oftimes since moving not because they are better...but because they still sell fresh yeast. It gets harder and harder to buy. We freeze it so I know the last time we were at Sainsburies was in November. The staff always seem really put upon by the managers, it makes me cross with them..

Urgh...went to make coffee and fell over :( Its going to be that sort of day I see.:mad:

    Take care LIR

I can't say the fruit and veg in morrisons is very good but we only tend to buy bog standard stuff and the bill in Sains just for fruit and veg comes to about 40 quid or half our weekly shop. Yes the apples and clementines in Sains taste nicer, but when it is just for me and the kids to chomp through (we probably eat 3 or 4 pieces each a day) spending 15p per apple rather than 40p makes a big difference.

Interestingly I find that sainsburys veg are sold in too small packets (not enough for one meal for 5) the morrisons ones are even smaller.

Edit: At the moment I really fancy a nice crunchy apple - hopefully in a few days :(
    I think....

Thank you :) I'll be ok..:)

Have you considered a green grocer/market? Markets are hard when you are working...maybe your DW? Out here I fnd markets awkward...I never remember which is on when and tbh, they are further and less convenient for me than the shops the green grocer is working well for me ATM...its cheaper than supermarkets and the parking is free.

Thank God for LydiaJ & her excellent news cheering up this thread :j

Everyone else appears to be having some doom/gloom at the mo, so it is nce to read/hear good things happening to people.

More people appear to be reading & contributing to the NPT, which is nice.:)

I had a bad weekend too - though not on the scale of some on here. I'm tired, & as a result a bit ratty with folk. I got messed around by a couple of friends this weekend, which really didn't go down well with me. Naturally instead of giving them both barrels, I stayed silent on the matter. Probably better in the long run though, as it will get mentioned, & in the heat of the moment isn't the best time.

I've also somehow damaged my glasses, but have no idea how or why? When I look through them, one of the lenses is all blurred. They're not scratched. At first I thought it was much, but when cleaning them the surface feels rougher than the undamaged lense. I can't fix it (or everything I've tried so far hasn't worked), & can't afford a new pair for a month, so am having to struggle along without the ability to see stuff. Thank god the sun has come out - I can use my sunglasses!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Sorry to hear about your weekend and no point comparing your difficulties to others - may be we just moan louder!

Can you not as a temporary measure get a cheap pair of online glasses - they tend to only be about 15 quid a pair for coated prescription lenses?

I am not at all a fan of our local market fruit and veg - prices seem to be as dear as the supermarkets, you don't get to pick your fruit and veg yourself and it is all displayed right next to the busy street and all the bus fumes.

I must try to find out if there is a green grocer nearby - the town centre does not have one, unfortunately living in an affluent area as well all the specialist shops see them selves as 'premium' and charge accordingly :(

I think in comparison, my problem(s) are more to do with me being a miserable so&so at the moment.;) It'll pass. I have fun things to do next month, so that'll distract me.

I agree with you re fruit & veg. My fruit I always get from the local greengrocer - family business, been there some time. To be honest, if they've run out, I tend to wait for them to resupply!:)

I also get my free range eggs from there too, & they are lovely. Bit more expensive (20p a box) than some supermakets, but bigger & tastier!

I can fumble along without the glasses - actually, perhaps I need to try that a bit more. & fortunately I don't need them for reading or work, so I'll get by.

I think I need to get round to making LIR's cinnamon layer cake to cheer me up. Just need a wee bit of motivation, thats all!:D

    For you bookites.

Try "One Day" by David Nicholls.

    Loved it.

    Simply brilliant.

I liked it I think but can't remember it now. I saw it near the top of a box I'll read it again this week.

Oh I have another one to recommend too...Room by emma donoghue. I was dubious but its so sympathetically written. I think the quality of writing makes it worth while dealing with the difficult subject matter. I'd recommend it to non-booky friends for the gruesome but safely so story line...but its really the characterisation that is handled well.
