To be honest, I can't stand the program, so I haven't been watching it. The show I watched seemed very... intrusive... and I think it is exploiting people who don't really understand the potential consequences. Or maybe I'm wrong. But these people will still be living their life after the show, and it could do a lot of damage.
That's the case with a lot of these reality TV shows, which often seem to be made for ratings, without much concern for the people involved.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Dressmaker Thelma better be well paid by channel 4 because she has lost her living.
Wasn't she also in the papers this week for being a benefit cheat? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? There is no way of showing what another culture is like without being intrusive.
Where I'm from, the cultural lives of the indigenous tribes are sold as a tourist attraction. The visitors learn about a different culture, the tribes make money but it's still exploitative and crass. But is that worse than hiding the culture and creating fear?0 -

I guess part of it is I get the real sense that the filmmakers don't like the people much or really understand the culture of the community they are filming. Maybe I am wrong. And maybe, it will still do some good as long as it is fair.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
