e nearest Hospital A&E, it had a separate area for paediatrics which was more pleasant than waiting with drunks.

TBH they should have a separate room for the drunks, tiled and hose down able.

Just a covered pen outside would do.

    Are there private A&E departments?

In my county there's only one hospital. So it's that (20 miles) or go to another county (50 miles). There's no choice.

Sometimes you have to decide whether to call NHS direct, your GP out of hours service, the local minor injuries unit, a private GP, go to hospital or call an ambulance.

So really a lot of choice.

Not that I know of. Lots of private hospitals can't handle their own emergencies either,I think, but if you have something they can deal with ...my experience was better private. edit: further more my experience was better London private than out of london private. NHS Italia though was fab for a home visit.

Few and far between. I recall reading about one attached to a big hospital (? near Paddington? possibly).

There are private GPs who do out of hours visits.

My Da bought it. It was authentic.

He used to go holidays in it and my Ma would follow behind in the Mercedes with provisions

My brother got my Da's watch, I got the caravan
