A freind of mine is pregnant and, it turns out, is severely anemic.
I was amazed, I couldn't work out how it had happened, the only thing I could think of was she was too lazy to take her iron supplements.
I was mid-lecture when she informed me she wasn't given any. When I had the brat (and it wasn't that bliddy long ago) they literally confirmed your pregnancy whilst writing you a prescription for iron.
Now it seems they wait until you are anemic before they even mention the fact pregnant women need to up their iron intake.
It is all about money. There are so many idle sods milking the NHS there is not a ha'penny spare for anyone else.
The tories haven't made any kind of inroads into the benefit culture that is stripping this country bare despite their promises. They whacked up VAT and continue to bleed taxpayers dry whilst the really needy suffer.
I sound so right wing and I am anything but.
The whole thing really depresses me
No reason she couldn't get her own supplements though. TBF never has there been more information on things to do during pregnancy and gestational nutrition!0 -

Some doctors probably do misdiagnose it, though
Mine completely refused to believe it when I was expecting eldest....but then all the tests had said that the chances of me falling pregnant were a million to one.
He only believed it when he had carried out 'proper' tests rather than my home kit.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Talking about Mary Portas....I think some of the shop assistants in town were watching.
Went up town today and the change was amazing, assistants wanting to help, being greeted by smiling people, it really was astounding. We made it! I didn't think you were having a pop, but I don't think this type of system would help someone with your phobia either... because you still have to get diagnosed by your doctor as I understand it. Then, when you are signed off, you get checked by someone clicking buttons on a keyboard.
If the computer doesn't think you are ill enough, you have to go on some kind of scheme.
No, it probably wouldn't. TBH I think unless something grievous happens I'm going to try and just stay away. I managed the appt I had (and got a swab for the problem I was trying to explain I wasn't confident swabbing for....) oh DRAT, this conversation just reminded me I was meant to get a blood test this week....those I'm fine with :rotfl::rotfl:Oh god, now I have to ask them if I have it this week or next female month......0 -

What I don't understand about those Gok programmes is how he makes a big thing about people feeling confident in themselves as nature and spanx made us then co presents his show with that woman who I presume nature didn't provide with that puffy face.0
