Yeah...but be careful what. DH goes round munching raw broccoli, cauliflower or coriander. Healthy yes, but I think people think he's a little odd.

    You think right!;)

Man bag has my reading material in it.

At least I know I'm gonna be cooking in half an hour.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Well eat well. You should add some food to the bag , misskool is right.

I like apples for bags, they cope reasonably well with bag-squash and they are juicy when you're thirsty and have run out of water.

You are doing so well - we just boxed everything up, less and less organised as we got closer to moving day and now we have loads of badly labelled boxes in the garage that we don't really know what's in them...

Ouch. Hope your foot is better soon viva.

I have finished sorting the stuff in the spare room into piles for taking to tip, giving away, packing etc .... :j
... but the kids have totally trashed the kitchen and living room while I've been doing it.:mad::mad::mad:

The chaos in the playroom is the next major task. Stuff has been being dumped in there for far too long.
    I think....

I've had an eventful day...up early to cover the Aussie Speedway champs (round 2), boys still in their beds which was bliss.

The did lunch and was going to try for a nap when brother and his family turned up...it seems they have made a decision to move, have given notice on his huge but only one bedroom flat and are moving back into her smaller but two bedroomed house..so he was up collecting decorating stuff and gardening stuff as he will, at long last, have his own garden again (now wondering if he is going to start removing his weird, wonderful and rare plants from my garden where he rehomed them when his marriage split and he moved into the flat)

Then later today, I had another evening out! Yes, two evenings out in less than 4 months, it is unheard of! I really love my new sister in law, she likes my boys, their disabilities do not phase her and she loves having them, so when the chance of a meal out came up, she offered to have them for me so I could go.

Even better, we tentatively talked about the possibility of her looking after the boys during the school holidays so I could go back to work in a proper full time place instead of having to try to find work to fit around the boys school schedule..so I could even go back to my old career! Still a few things to work through/work out but if it comes off, I could even get my life and career back on track finally.

So I am ending my Saturday on a high and full of optimism.

Did I say I love my new sister in law.......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sue, I'm really excited for you. What an amazing sister in law. How wonderful for you and the boys to have someone else i your life who appreciates you all and doesn't define you by the boys' limitations. Excellent news.

Lydia, I'm just amazed at how well you are doing packing up...that happens here and I don't have kids so if its the limit of your chaos I think you are doing excellently.

I'm prone on the sofa accepting that I over did it yesterday, particularly with ''normal hormonal'' backache. My wretched sciatica has been screeching all night and this morning DH has tucked me back up on the sofa and is doing the animals outside himself. Does mean I won't get the chickens cleaned out today ...but the joy of my life is what doesn't get done today can be done tomorrow.

Instead I'm feeling like I'm doing a school project, cutting out pictures and sticking them in a flip chart for our architect who set us this as homework, and its a week late....I've realised I totally lost a week when DH parked his car creatively. I just don't know what I did with that time.

What a quiet day here! After that mopey post I got up and though didn't lift anything I walked backwards and forwards with dh, opening gates and chatting. We got everything cleared that we needed to do. And we planted three trees...sweet chestnuts, two varieties. Hopefully we'll get some while we are still in our thirties :)

We've had a family day, nice roast lunch, a relaxing afternoon after and then down to my parents for a visit...and eldest even joined us!

I am finding eldest becoming a man rather unsettling, he is 18 this October and of course, is developing his own life outside of the family and as a result, we barely see him...even when he is home, he is in his bedroom studying. In one way, I am chuffed that he is so independent but in the other, my baby is becoming an adult (becoming? Think he is already there!).

Not man enough to go on his own into doctors appointments though!

All good stuff! I've already posted elsewhere that we took the day off and headed into the foothills of Dartmoor, to explore a little- known valley which I fancied would be pretty. It was.

Half way along our trek, I suddenly remembered it's still only January. With all that snow in mid-December, I think my internal clock has decided it's March, even though my brain knows exactly what date it is.

Sitting, scoffing sandwiches at 300m would have been ridiculous a few weeks back, but it was lovely....and no tourists!!! :):)

I may have over boiled my seville marmalade. Still tasty just that it's a bit more caramel than jam :(
