DH uses (I don'tmake cheese on toastI know, weird., its DH's thing, ) whatever we have.

If its planned as a supper I normally have Edam :( (for the boringly obvious reason). DH is going through a Compte phase I notice, but having such a strong Somerset influence in our lives PROPER cheddar is popular.

    edit:
He's on the phone now and I asked him and he says tonight he'd have an Emmentale of any sort. He's in an emmentale mood.

Thanks lir. Changing what cheese to put on your toast is one of life's simple pleasures. I've put emmental on the to try list (which has just been created). Pastures, what cheese do you like?

I'm really sorry but I'm clueless sometimes. What is the boringly obvious reason behind Edam? Is Edam some sort of obvious cheese? To me cheddar is the obvious cheese. Confused I am....

However cheese on toast splashed with balsamic vinegar sounds divine and is something I will definitely by trying. Italian rarebit mmmmmm.

Emmental is my favourite cheese. I'm always in an Emmental mood. Yum.

The girls were here about a month when a very handsome, painfully clean young man turned up with a note from social services

I had not even realised he existed. He is the littlest ones father.

I think it was about then I began to feel like a c*u*n*t

I knew she had a father obviously, I just had made up my mind he was like their mother and the eldest' father. Done, dusted

Turns out he has been paying a third of his (minimum wages) for the last three years for both girls. I had no idea

He came to pick his child up and I was in a total tizzy. They had talked about him, I thought he was just another boyfriend

He came, I invited him in and pointed at the little un and said you can spend time with her here.

He said can R**** stay here too? As she was hanging round his neck screaming Daddy.

    Try !!!!ing stopping her

This very young boy has been living on less than the dole money to support two little girls (one of whom isnt his). He has been doing this for years well aware almost nothing he sent was going on the girls

The true genius is the balsamic vingar...try it.:)

Viva: edam is ''traditonally'' the cheese of dieters. I think its because its so bland you only really want a nibble before falling asleep ;)

In fact, I hold its probably better to have less of a tastier cheese when you have it, so you get a good cheese fix from a small amount. But still, I get edam for me if I think a cheese on toast meal is likely. :o

My very favourite cheese of all cheeses is without doubt chauource (althouh the spelling looks worng). I wouldn't adulterate it with anything.

Sounds like he needs some of your gumption to help him reach higher for himself, in earning, too. :)

I don't understand the guilt ws. Did you not appreciate him being there or was it something else?

The fact there's other decent people out there is good thing, no.

You cant eat cheese and watch your weight. Edam or anything else

You can eat a certain amount of calories and that's it. Any cheese means you can eat sod all else all day

Unfortunately, there is no cheese out there that is the thin womans friend.

You could try Quark. It is bloody awful though and looks like wallpaper paste. Probably tastes like it too, but I've never eaten wallpaper paste so can only imagine.

1 oz of edam is 101 calories. Depressing that I know that! On a crumpet thats 181 calorie meal. Substitute breaded good of choice for different calories.:o

Fattening up underweights in a healthy way? Try adding a healthy, nutritionally balanced diet supplement as an extra meal rather than a substitute meal. Complan is brilliant for this - completely nutritionally balanced as a meal, make it up with warm milk as a bed time drink. Adds calories and vitamins in one go. Also stops the sicky feeling that some skinny people get in the morning.
