On a slightly different tack, I've just realised that I attribute a voice to all you regulars.... so when I read your posts in my head, I'm hearing them in 'your' different voices.
I have vague ideas about appearances too.... I wouldn't want to have my imagination spoiled.
I wonder if I'm alone in this and whether it's more of a female trait?
I rememebr saying I think Viva is snow white and you are English rose-y. I think you have a warm, smiley voice that can be stern but with a twinkle and an infectious laugh..a proper laugh.0 -

I've been recruited in the past for my voice, it's been mentioned by several employers - and I've been asked to record business answerphones as I sounded posh.
I don't think I sound posh; I used to, but over the years I feel I've had to compromise that accent to try to "fit in"..... and, at my school, to not get a beating.
So, put me down as sounding: a little terribly nicely0 -

I've never had a Deep fat fryer but I have made doughnuts etc by home deep frying but heart is in mouth. I'm thinking about getting a DFF but would use it 1 every year or less for ''spiritual cooking'' so might not be worth it.I used to have little fires all the time.
while experimenting. we had a litle oven fire at Christmas. Shamefully, I needed to clean my new oven.:osomething had obviously bubbled over. wet towel sorted it.

I did discover one "trick" re egg fried rice, by accident. I made a simple one a couple of times: chop/fry an onion, chuck in some cooked rice, beaten egg, shuffle it all about, splash in some soy sauce, shuffle it about, serve.
Then one day I thought "I know, what if I heat up the soy first". So this time I fried the onions, then splashed in the soy and got it hot, then added the rice/egg. Made heaps of difference, totally different flavour, much better.0 -

I think for frying, I'd be happy enough doing any chicken balls/similar just in a normal frying pan and turning them over a lot.
I do want an open plan kitchen in any house I get because I hate being trapped in one room (kitchen) watching everything, while being cut off from what's in the other room (PC, phone, TV). I'd rather leave something cooking in the kitchen, knowing I was just 8' away and it was still within sight.... than standing on the spot for 20 minutes "in case" and so I didn't forget it.
Even when I am 8' away, I have a kitchen timer and I religiously set the alarm on it, so I don't forget.
I am a unitasker, I can't multi-task safely. So the timer is one of my coping strategies.... if I walk away, then I will not notice time passing. Fact.0 -

I generally only go to the loo/have a shower when I know the others have been and so I won't get walked in on. In the past year just had to shout "oi" once.
Dressing gown belt. One end tied round door handle other end round towel rail.
Or buy a 99p bolt from a hardware store and fit it high up so the oldies don't notice it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks lir. I'll have to ask my kids if they would agree with that.
And I think you are gentle and friendly, with looks that belie your steely determination. I think you've said you are blonde and I see an attractive young woman whose personality shines through.0 -

Now this has added a little roundness to my picture of you PN. Shall I always hear you sounding something like Helen Bonham-Carter from now on?0
