I'm very wary of chainsaws ever since I was in hospital with someone else who managed to cut their arm off while using one.
Did they take it in with them?
Jugular vein is a big one, peering over to check the chain incorrectly exposes the jugular to the chain if it comes free. Yuck.0 -

I guess they must have, I think it had been sewn back on, but wasn't as good as new. I don't know if it was completely severed, I didn't really want to ask.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

My best wishes to Inspector Monkfish and his family....the poor little thing, she has already been through so much.
LIR!! What are we to do with you?We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

You don't have to cross paths with us for security, just PM me where to get them left for you....a reception desk or something. Or we could arrange a phone box and carnations in button holes,...no names mentioned but DH's puts the eggs down and you walk past and pick them up
I will try to get into work and will PM some details to see if paths cross. I have a delectable apple, plum and chilli jelly or chutneys of various descriptions if you would want to swap.
Thanks for comments on car. It would be a second car in the household, the journey is 10 miles and the main problem for me would be that I wouldn't be able to sneak a swift pint at the pub before home.
Train fare for a year is just over a grand but it's not the most direct route. Maybe look at boxing day sale for cars. :rotfl:0 -

I'm making a gift but would be thrilled with a gift of any one of the above :Dthe jelly sounds amazing! but the value would be greater than a dozen eggs . DH can pop out of The City at lunch time and leave 'em for you if someone can put them aside or in a pigeon hole...0 -
Have you seen the price of a dozen eggs in waitrose lately? :eek:0

How do you nick a snowman?
Why would you nick a snowman?
Is it politically correct to make a snowman, or should it be a snowperson?“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Various things:
1] Best wishes winging their way to Insp. Monkfish
2] LIR - hatchback, look at that shape, impractical for your home needs - look into cars that are square at the back/sides with a good rear door, there are some quite small ones these days... something that has no rear lip, that you can load animals and cargo into. I can't find any names at the moment... but there are small ones.
3] MissK - 10 miles - how about looking into scooters. You can get 3-wheeled ones for stability, I even saw one once that had two rear wheels so close together you hardly noticed them under the "bump" at the back. And, with scooters you get a "running board" to put your feet onto and a big shield for your legs. Nippy, cheap, easier to park. Although, if you're a bit wild, the Piaggio MP3 http://www.thebikergene.com/gallery/PiaggioMP3/-9.jpg.php
Edit - those Piaggio MP3, three-wheelers, I think there's a 125 version, brand new, at about £4,500.
Edit2: Found a price, 100mpg too, http://www.chasesuperbikecentre.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=639
