Yes all about choices and thats their choice and I agree with their reasons. Its their choice to chose a house for whatever reasons are inportant to them.
Not sure why this keeps going back to this..........its not what this post was started for and its not even about me so I can't really discuss it any further as i may give wrong answers x

Same with this one. It's been on the market for over 2 years and has changed from 'Offers in Excess of £279,000' to 'Offers in Region of £329,000' to 'Fixed Price £340,000'

Property Bee lists all the changes made to the content of the ad, and this includes description, prices and so forth. I don't know how it works for others, but I only get the tables listing the changes when I view ads in a list, in a summary (not the individual specific advert itself).

This is how that property advert displays. EDIT - half of those 'Under Offer' entries on the advert are crossed through to show they are deleted from the advert but this hasn't replicated when I've pasted it below.

Same for me, only when its in a list does it show prices/changes etc... when I click into them it goes.

Maybe none of the houses ive been looking at have been under offer!! All the better for me! x

Edited as ive just looked at the ones above and it does not show as 'under offer' on mine, now wondering if mine is different. The last house (scottish one) shows up in yellow as a brand new entry x

Yep - we're planning on getting the process started just before Christmas so that we'll have most of the paperwork all done for moving into a new house in the New Year.

Can anyone help me get a reality check here, I found a house I liked that has been on the market since June, in october it dropped from 124,995 to oieo 118,000.

I have today had my third and final offer of 110,000 turned down and told they were looking for over 115,000, similar properties in the area are 99,000 - 115,000 although this does have a decent garden, the property would benefit from some electrical work (new fuse board etc).

What I want to know is am I way off the mark offering 105 then 107 and now 110,000? or am I right and the vendor is living in the past???

I couldn't say without fully researching the area within about 1 mile of the house, looking at sold prices etc..... its still hard even then.
But a house is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay........ you never know they may come back if you leave it on the table. Only pay what you are comfortable with.

Its hard, the last house on our street sold for 30K under what ours is on for, but its needed EVERYTHING doing from a new roof to a kitchen, it took them over 18months to do all the work and move in.
But inline with other houses on surrounding streets ours is in the cheapest price braket.

I was just about to exchange on a house two weeks ago when the sellers started messing me about. Deposit was with the solicitor and paperwork signed for contract just waiting to exchange. To cut a long story short I pulled out of the sale due to the sellars trying to up the price, not having permission from the builders to alter the property, which they had done(they could have bought indemnity policy which they refused to do), to name a few of the things that went wrong. I was upset as I was so close. The estate agent said that he thought the sellers now thought they could get more for their property than we had offered and wanted it back on the market. They have put it back on the market for a higher figure. My mum said, what's meant to be is meant to be and there will be another house out there. Couple of days ago I spent the whole day viewing properties and late in the day I went to view a property that I had not thought of looking at previously and fell in love with it. This property is far superior to the original one and I am now very very happy that the first one fell through. I have since had my offer accepted on this property. I am a ftb and am hoping to complete on 1st Feb, so there are still buyers out there looking

I'm looking too. Looked at a bungalow at £200K...offered 170K...refused so offered 175K...refused again so up to 180K. EA says they want full asking price, otherwise don't bother.

Bungalow next door sold for 175K last August, and this has a much bigger back garden than the one I'm looking at.

Same story with all the places I've viewed. I've made 3 offers, all around 10%-15% below asking price and been refused every time. All the properties remain unsold.

I can proceed immediately without waiting to sell my own house, by the way, and no mortgage needed either.

I think sellers are holding out for recovery say the spring bounce. When that doesn't appear like the September bounce I think they will start becoming more realistic.

I won't be actively looking till May, prices would have been falling for near a year then.
