Another vote for the sausage rolls idea, and also in using sausagemeat to make a lattice pie.
Going to have a look through the other thread now for some more ideas! Thanks, Zip.

Right, i have i bag of sage and onion stiuffing (@180g dry). Hubby not too keen on it. It will take me ages to get through this on my own!!! There is a recipe for making a rosti dish on the back of the packet that looks ok, Snowy
Any chance of that rosti recipe, please? It sounds nice:D

Basic stuffing is just a bit of chopped onion, stale breadcumbs and herbs tbh. Could you make it cheaper than 15p a go? Probably not. Would it taste better than rehydrated starch and chemical flavouring mix? Almost certainly, and be better for you too.Val.0

I use the value packs too sometimes and add extra sage to them to make them a bit more tasty.
If i`m making my own i make up an oxo cube with some hot water and dissolve butter into it, add breadcrumbs and finely chopped onion with some dried sage and bobs your uncleBake it for half an hour-ish when i next have the oven on and it freezes well too.
I save all the old crusts of bread and shove them in the food processor then freeze in a bag and when there`s enough i use them straight from frozen - just break up any lumps first.
I always add extra sage as sage and onion is my fave and i like a really strong tasting stuffing, if its to use in sandwiches i add extra liquid to make a spreadable stuffing that will go straight on the bread then i only need to butter one half of the sandwich.
At christmas time i add lincolnshire sausage meat to it before i cook it for a change.

I make my own bread so lots and lots of bread in the freezer (crusts etc not eaten but too frugal to throw it - usually make breadcrumbes to coat mashed potato and veg cakes) - so i will have a try of this! Already have half an onion in the fridge..........
Just made the yummiest left overs lunch and the (tesco value) stuffing topped it off brilliantly, so hopefully home made will be even yummierDFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debtsJust to see which month

Just to add, if I've made up the stuffing balls, (packet stuffing this is, never made my own) and I've not used all of them.
Then the balls do freeze quite well. They re-heat quite well and stay the same texture.
Or cold sliced with cooked meat in sandwiches.0 -
