Walked part way home and saved 90p in bus fare so thats going in pot

Aim to do this a couple of times a week - its about three miles so should get me fit as well

Evening all,

nothing major for the tin today just a few coppers found lying around. Another NSD well apart from buying curtains online, so not that bad really.

I've been painting my sons room for the last 2 days and it looks really nice now, waiting for the curtains now, hopefully be here tomorrow or Saturday. I still need to buy him a new carpet but that's going to have to wait untill later in the year.

I have made a little progress with the 'monster/box' luckycharlie and Sue U-U. Unfortunately the camera phone died (still in the process of getting parts :eek:), so I can't show you yet. I also need to get some paint this weekend, so I can get on with finishing it . Oh well....:rotfl:
Right, I've got a 104 of your lovely English pence to stick in the pot today (that's from the past two days). The roadkill has all but dissapeared :eek::rotfl::eek:....What could this mean? :rotfl:

My contributions to my sp are pretty similar. We all take packed lunches now, either sandwiches or home made soup and rather than pop the daily equivalent into my pot I try to stick 10.00 in every Friday. I have asked hubby to make a similar contribution but he isn't too forthcoming. I have also set a weekly food budget and anything left over goes into the pot - it's amazing how heavy my pot is now feeling !

I have also potted my ebay sales, any roadkill that I may find, lottery wins and loose change under a quid on a daily basis. I aslo don't allow myself to spend 2.00 coins and these go straight into my pot.

Do you use quidco or something similar ? you could also pop any cashback savings into your pot ?

This challenge has really made me question what I do with my money and whether I really need something and in the past any backpay I've add from work, etc would have been frittered away but I'm now really enjoying saving ... roll on 1st December to open my pot

65p for me today. Change from Slimming World, gaining pennies and losing pounds in a round about sort of way!! 1 stone and 8lbs to be precise :-) almost at target!! Told my Mum about this thread and she very kindly chucked some coins my way. Saw a penny on the floor at work but it was right by someones desk so for the second day running I decided to own up and put it in our charity pot. Thought about doing the 'see a penny pick it up all day long you'll have good luck' thing but chickened out!!

Ahh, don't you be worrying blue-eyed-girl, you are NOT alone! My DH, DS & DD know exactly which is which where cars are concerned whereas I know precious little about them and care even less! I know the ones I don't like, though I couldn't name them, I go for looks alone - at the time - after that it's gone! Ask your OH to please be a little patient with you as you know you're not alone. Safety and not buying a load of rubbish is key to me and it sounds as though you're the same....but we're gifted in other ways!!!

I'm brand new and in quite a loy of trouble financially (nearly £20000). I have been in touch with the CCCS and am waiting for a budget/DMP so I suppose I am being proactive BUT when I spoke to the CCCS counsellor about maybe trying to save a bit each week to make extra payments she said it wasn't really a sensible thing to do as the budget they work out is supposed to be what you live on and you shouldn't 'go short' - so I think the sealed pot cahllenge is the only way to try and save a tiny bit. What does everyone out there think? I am here because I'm hoping for some support - my grown up kids are cross with me (I've always struggled with money and I guess they've seen too much) and I'm on my own.
