  • Hello,

Please can I join? I bought one of those 99p tin things from £stretcher. I have placed £3 in there so far. My target is as much as possible, but at least £1 per day. I'd hope for more but £1 per day sounds nice if I can remember. I'm saving for a house deposit, but those savings are separate. This sealed pot is for my xmas presents next year. This is one thing I hope I can keep going every year from now.

I shall mainly be filling is with £1 coins after a night out from my beer pockets, as theoretically that way I won't miss the money and will just think that I have spent it on extra drinks (therefore after today I shall only be roughly aware of the actual total until it is opened in December). I plan to open it on December 1st so will place an extra £28 in there this week to compensate for opening it a month early.

DD has just happily posted 57p from my purse into my tin for me and then gone up to her dad and said 'my need pennies!!' and stuck her hand in his pocket to extract the 2 x 1ps he had hidden in there, and posted those aswell ;)

Hubby has just moaned about being 'robbed by a 2 yr old' and then picked up my tin, gasped at the weight, had a peek in the hole with a torch and sloped off muttering, to put 50p he'd hidden from me into his own tin :D so i must be doing well :D:D:D

Hi Sue-UU. Could I please join in.

I need to save £500 by 1st December 2011 as it is my husbands 40th birthday and I always promised myself that if I got the chance I would buy him the platinum wedding ring that he's always wanted.

    Thanks.

A jar or anything similar will do, so long as it's sealable! ;)
