    Debt-free and Proud!
    edited 29 December 2010 at 2:56PM
My OH has now nicknamed me Magpie - says every time he puts something shiny down for 5 seconds I've nicked it and put it in "my nest"! :rotfl:

£1 in today. Another NSD. This pound was lovingly (read: begrudgingly!) donated from OHs wallet!
:T:T:T Go you! :T:T:T I'm terrible, it seems that every time I start to shrink my debt, I go on a massive spending spree and ruin all the hard work. I think I'm so used to having the debt now that I'd miss it if it were really gone.:eek::eek:
I'm very lucky in that I'm not a spender by nature really. Most of my debt (bar a holiday) went on bills I couldn't afford (thanks Mr. Ex!) and general living costs during unemployment! So it's not hugely hard for me now I have a surplus to chuck it onto the debt. My one vice is holidays, I'm a sucker for an adventure. I haven't left the country since April 2008 (Tokyo - paid for entirely on credit card and still paying it off!) and I have seriously itchy feet, but it'll feel so good to get to the airport debt-free!
    :D DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011 :D
(Debts at highest £15.8k Nov '08)
Student Loan paid off July 2014
    First Direct Regular Saver #2: £2700 ** Santander 123: £13,106
    Car Insurance/Tax Fund: £305 ** Present Savings: £525 ** Disneyworld Fund £100

Go to "CP Control" (above left where it says "Welcome....")

Click there and you'll see a list on the left. Click on "Edit Signature" and you're away! Thanks a lot. :)
I think I'm so used to having the debt now that I'd miss it if it were really gone.:eek::eek:

It's good to see so many new members joining us, so Sue you must be doing something positive Hun, have you been on DFW and trying to poach people from there?

Tweren't me sparky, though I have heard that we're being talked about....by heck we must be good - or bad!!! Either way, they'll end up being good savers as a result. Very well done on your bargain coat, sparky!!

Good on your hubby, Bebs, tell him he can keep up the good work.

    Well done, heretolearn.

I don't really blame your OH, Dreamer, mine is much the same with me - but they benefit too at the end of the year! You do yourself proud with your debts, especially as they're incurred via your ex. Keep up the great work and look forward to a lovely holiday...when the timing's right.

That's it, Palema, keep shopping!!! I shouldn't really be saying that though should I.

Enjoy your day everyone, your savings too. :D

    Sue x

Anyone else wishing to join, just ask, you're more than welcome.

That's fine, BatOutOfhell, next time just use wording such as "handful of change" it covers it nicely - after all I don't sit here counting every person's daily bits! Not likely, that would be too much like ard work for sure!
