Finished the crimbo shopping today, paid cash for everything to resist the "plastic temptation" and stuck within my limit with a pocketfull of change to spare! (approx £9 :j)

A year ago Id have wasted that change on fags and vending machine snacks. NOT TODAY my friends!!! Straight into the pot it went with a clunk. Hooray for me.

Keep up the good work folks!!!

    Nige

A few sentences like that are a real pleasure to read, Nige! You're a credit to young people - very well done indeed, especially with kicking the evil fags!!! :T

Very well done, Dee, Jackies, Georgiegirl ( I think) and PloddingAlong. :) You too, lippy, NDSs are always good.

I'm pleased about that FF...though at first I thought you were going to say you'd give a bit to me! ;)

Oh, very well done, fishcakes! A good job nobody had their knee well-aimed! ;)

Good for you too, Palema, kochi1, sonas_baby AND LC!!! You'll need everything out of your pockets if you're to get on that treadmill.!!! :rotfl:

Have a lovely Christmas Eve everyone, but don't let the shops have too much of YOUR cash!

Sue x Anyone else wishing to join, please say the word, you're most welcome. And A Very :xmassign: All just in case any of you won't be on for the next few days.

  • Good morning everyone & a very very happy Christmas Eve to you all.

I am back from getting my last few fresh bits & pieces at Sainsbury. For me shopping is never a pleasure, but this morning was the closest I'm ever going to get; at 0550 hours it was virtually deserted. Some of the shelves looked as though they'd been ransacked & staff were busy restocking. I took my list, stuck to it & got everything I wanted without having to resort to more expensive alternatives because it was all in stock. So happily, I am within budget this Christmas & now will not have to buy anything except milk until the new year.

The sales adverts have started on tv!!! I can't believe it. They must be desperate for our money if they're at it so early. I shall not be visiting the sales this year. There is nothing major we need & I will not be tempted by their offers. I have decided that when the adverts come on I shall leave the room & be out of earshot & do something constructive, like pour myself a gin & tonic. The only time I will allow myself to peep at the sales is when I visit the supermarket in January; if I might spy bargains for birthdays & next Christmas.

The change from our Christmas budget has gone into the pot this morning & I have rewarded myself with a brew. Its not much, but I do think that without this thread to keep me motivated it could well have been an overspend. A big thank you for that x

    A very merry Christmastime everybody.

merry christmas eve everyone, did the dreaded tesco run yesterday and the shelves were EMPTY!! ended up having to stop in Co-op on the way home to pick up all the stuff tesco was missing, might as well just have gone there in the first place :rotfl:

Had to use my dreaded tesco CC  but it was onlt £48 so there will be no probs in the new year paying it off with no interest incurred and i'll get the extra clubcard points so not all bad :T

Dont think i'll have change today as its my mincepie baking, house cleaning so santa doesnt fall over in the dark, veg preparing day ;)
