Youluckypanda, my mum and I were the same. I was dropping kids to school and told mum to get there and lift one for me, and I would meet her there and pay for it. She was the first person in the shop, there were 3 other women there, and she was told quite firmly that the 'rules' were 'ONE PER CUSTOMER ONLY!!'
She was then bustled through a cordoned off area and was told to hurry up and choose her size, to let other people have a chance to get one!
Whenever I got there and went to choose my jumper, I had JUST lifted one to check the size etc when i was told 'If you've got the colour you want dear, please proceed to the nearest checkout, there ARE others waiting' The cheek!
    Good bargain though ;)

Very lucky to be in store and stumble across these. Only 2 left in small but one was a lovely chestnut colour and DS1 is wearing it already. Wonder what they will do with any that get returned as they will have the stamped tickets on?

M&S in Covent Garden was a total scrum! Loads of stock when I was there at 1.30 p.m. but a big crowd of people grabbing round a tiny table. It wasn't very well organised but the staff were very pleasant, helping people to find the right sizes and refolding them when they got knocked on the floor (several times).

Bought myself a green crew neck. Haven't started the Christmas shopping yet but i've bought myself several rather nice grabbit bargains lately :o

I was wondering about that as I would like a bigger size- I got large but it is a bit short in the arms. DO you think they will exchange for a bigger one?

I just spoke to them in St Albans and they advised me that you could change to different size but would have to pay the difference in price. Quite surprised at this policy as didn't see it say that anywhere. I bought the wrong size and if this is the case I will now give it to someone else.
  • I was at the Covent Garden one at 8.15 so picked one up there. I think I must have been the first person. The staff just left me to it. I have to say that those plastic frames were very annoying, I'm glad I wasn't rushed because I did need to open it up and wonder 'is that Dad-sized?!'

Then I cheekily got off at Victoria on the way to work and popped in to get one for my brother. Much, much busier, and the staff were a tad irate, though generally fine.

    Very pleased with myself.x

Bloomfields in Bangor was mayhem. There were half a dozen staff all hovering around one display stand and one of them was getting annoyed at me as I had a couple in my arms but in different sizes. Was looking for XL and finally spotted that 2 had been put back but they were different neck lines. Silly me had forgotten to charge her phone so I couldn't phone my mum to ask what to get but a lovely kind lady I happened to get talking to offered me her mobile to call my mum and it's as well I did as I would have chosen the wrong one.

So not only did I manage to bag the last XL jumper for my dads birthday but it shows there are still some nice people out there :T

Oh and a big thank you to the OP or I would have missed this.
  • I got one in Nottingham yesterday morning and the staff were lovely. I do find the cordoning off & the monitoring a bit weird, though! Thanks OP!
:A Thanks to all the lovely people who contribute their advice! :A
  • DH went to get one from Lewisham yesterday, then asked another kind gentleman if he will take another to the till on his behalf and he did just that, as DH wanted to get a 2nd one for a present. Thanks OP.

I was hoping to get one for my bro but sadly none left by the time I had finished work. I did get myself a lovely plant basket using the 25% voucher from the Telegraph. The basket was reduced to £10.00 from £15.00 and I got it for £7.50. I also got some of the mini burgers in buns for 50p so I came away happy.
