I'd really like to ask the bears a serious question.
You get all excited when you see these figures every month.
As you know I have a house I could sell.
When figures go down do you think it makes me:
(a) What to kick my tenant out today. Then knock 20% off my house and sell it cheap?
Or.
(b) Keep collecting the rent. Enjoy the low mortgage rate. Sit tight for a few years until prices exceed 2007 levels then sell?
The way you all celebrate would make somebody think these figures mean you can walk round looking at every house imagining the owner would take how ever many per cent off the asking price. You have been shown already. Sellers won't drop the asking price.
When you had the big 3% drop the other month. Asking prices went up to cover it. :rotfl:
Homeowners will never allow prices to drop. Trust me. I am one of them.
i have probably mentioned this before S but just in case - you're a fool.
the haliwide figures aren't a 'theoretical' measure - they are a measure of how much money actual sellers actually get for their houses.
lower prices quite likely do mean fewer people willing to sell but it is a fact that there are still about 50,000 people who do [see land registry] sell every month at lower prices.FACT.0 -

I think I have said previously I can see prices reducing locally, yes there is some which are overpriced and not reducing and clearly not selling, but there is many more where prices either start where they should be or soon reduce to get there.
As for celeration, it is a good reason to celerate for me as my ideal home keeps getting cheaper (I mean as in the type of property, not one particular house). In short drops mean I will get my home quicker and have lessor payments on my mortgage, this will have a knock on benefit for the next 25 years.
With that I am unlikely to hold off buying when I have my deposit unless there is clearly a pattern of big drops happening. I just want a home to start a family not an investment, so if I can afford my mortgage I have little concern for what happens, but I would like to think it will stay stable for the sake of the future generations.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
