Great really helpful make-up tips posts jacks! Will look at the Lisa tutorials tonight. Thanks you :T:T
I did go to Mac in Liverpool 1, just before Christmas, but chickened- out as the average age of the MUA looked to be about 19 and I was reckoning maybe they wouldn't "get" me!! Sorry if I'm pre-judging!

I do know of a Bobbi Brown counter with a MUA as you described though! Think I'll head off there with "eyes" in mind soon.

DD got me an illuminated magnifying mirror for Christmas. Middle-aged eyesight doesn't help with applying eye make up either.

Shall we keep our lovely thread a shiny, happy place?
I think most posters and lurkers should "gettit" now! :p

I am torn between enjoying the shiny happyness, and not allowing a man to come and have a go at a bunch of women.

Can we report the troll posts for being unhelpful, unfriendly and off topic?

    Used up:

Clarins Vital Light moisture cream (sample, gift with purchase) - wiba mmm! I thought not, but then it seems to act like a bit of a primer too. I'll probably buy it through a gift with purchase (ie it'll be the gift not the purchase!). Really good thick moisturising cream, just what my face needed in this cold weather.

    PS I'm waving a "white flag" to encourage/promote a ceasefire in disputes/proceedings:
    1. Cos I'm bored with it.
    2. I'm not bothered whether anyone thinks I waste money. I earn it, I can do what I like with it.
    3. I'm also debt free and mortgage free - so whatever my stash, things are ok.

I have other things I want to spend my spare money on this year -and if those pics were good for anything it was showing me I don't need any more! :D

It was very therapeutic to see it all in one place in glorious technicolour.

Anyway so here's the plan: I do this challenge every month and try to stick to the following schedule - but with one proviso.

I try to buy the things on the list at the time they are due but buying them at a bargain price supercedes this.

Buying them at a special offer price a bit early is muuuuch better than paying full price at the time I need them - eh?

    The Schedule

    Three months

    Conditioner,
    Deep conditioning treatment (pref elasticizer)
    Foot Cream
    Nail varnish remover

    Six months

    Mir Argan Oil
    Shampoo
    Mascara
    Lip Balm
    Castor Oil?
    Grapeseed Oil?
    Urban Decay Primer Potion
    Shiseido Daily Bronze
    Hair dye

    Nine Months

    Mir Cleansing Gel
    Mir Exfoliating Cleansing Gel
Dermalogica Clean Start Bed time for Breakouts
Nude Cleansing Facial Oil or similar
    Foundation
    Tinted moisturiser

    Twelve Months

    Shine shock
    Lancome BiFacil
    Primer
    Mally Brow Boost
    Perfume
    Eyebrow and eyelash tint

Other than that I buy nothing!

Oh my god. :D:eek: :D:eek:

I've still managed to resist buying anything :) had a few INs for christmas, so I have even more to keep me going now, which is great! :D I'm hoping to save lots of money this year so this is really going to help :) a job might help too though! Gosh the whole job searching thing can really get you down when you don't hear a lot back :( I graduated this July and it's been really tough trying to find my way! all I want is a little foot in the door, I'm not looking for anything particularly amazing...but something to just get me going...urgh! *fingers crossed 2011 will be my year of achieving lots* :)

Best of luck to you Alja - it's a tough market out there. Why not prepare for a bit of success - so shop or organise your "work" wardrobe, shoes, stuff generally? Get everything sorted and you never know, some good luck may find you.

Jaxx - now that's a tough challenge. Like your idea of a proviso as yes - if there is a ridiculously MSE offer it would be daft to refuse - but only if your stash is reasonable but not excessive in that area. I've had another good clearout at decluttering today and the house it feels is opening up so as I look at my *naughty* S&G box sitting alongside the wardrobe cos I dont know where else to put it - it is actually acting as a helpful reminder of... now you keep on top of this lark!

Happy pampering everyone. And best of luck to our lady with the baby due - sounds like you've been spoilt and deserve every bit of it. :)

Thank you mineallmine! It's so annoying as I want to get my life going & it's being held back at the moment! :( I won some Debenhams vouchers earlier this year so I have got a few good pieces of work clothes with those luckily! I'll go through my wardrobe very soon and see what I can sort out :) thank you for your kind words of encouragement! Need some more motivation to keep going, hehe!
  • Well finally managed to use up some things I have been desperatley trying to get rid of!

Lush sweet japanese girl - must have been about 3 years old but still looked quite scrubby so have been using it to exfoliate the face. Thankfully someone in my household appears to have mistaken it for a soap so it has been used up alot quicker than it would have :p WBA - no, it leaves a greasy film on the face and if anything I think it blocked my pores

Also used up a dove shower cream and a block of Lush snowcake soap that I bought last christmas :rotfl:

Some In's though - went back to work yesterday and a girl I work with gave me a set of lavender/rose body creams and shower gels. But might regift this! Let's see how I get on with using up my 2 soap and glory hat boxes
