Well the Boots Dry Shampoo has went in the bin. Thanks for the advice Bronnie & Kaz but I couldn't brass neck a return given that there was so little left in it (Predicted in an earlier post it would last a week tops). If it had half full or over I would have.

Also another UU - L'Occitaine Verbena scent freebie. Was years old and WNB as I don't care for the scent.

I thought I'd post my hair wash hints that I got from Adam Hart-Davis' Just Another Day: The Science of Our Everyday Lives. It's of particular value to those of us with long-ish hair
You carefully brush your hair and comb any tangles out before stepping in the shower or wetting your hair. You then wash it long, working from the top down, no tangling on the head as in the advertisements. I use Lush solid shampoos sometimes and three strokes down builds up plenty of lather. You wash your hair as if it was a piece of cloth, carefully working the lather through it.

This is how I wash mine (mostly), now it's long. However, I bend over and wash it long, but upside down. My hair's thick and this is the only way I feel I get to my scalp and get it really clean. Defo need less conditioner and I think it's less likely to cause damage to long hair.

That's how I wash mine too and how I have taught DD to do hers. Her dad always puts tons of shampoo on her hair and rubs it into a manky mess which means we struggle to untangle it. I do keep telling him how to do it but he says he's older than me so more practice. My response, "What at being a girl?!".

also can I please have a small rant? DD had spotted a BS gift set in a magazine which she thought would be a nice christmas friend for one of her schoolfriends so in true mse fashion I bought the Telegraph to get the £5 voucher, then took DD into Body Shop only to be told by a very apologetic salesgirl that the voucher couldn't be used in N Ireland - I was really cross at this!!!,
    ok, rant over

Me too, this happened to me once, grr. Not good enough, Body Shop!! Email them and complain maybe?

You wash your hair as if it was a piece of cloth, carefully working the lather through it. Don't twist or tangle the hair. Then you'll have to use conditioner to de-tangle it.

I can wash my hair with a teaspoon of liquid shampoo this way - it's really effective.

Doing this, my hair was beautifully soft and glossy, and this without expensive shampoos.

Thanks for the tip, must try this!!! :T

  • Hey,

One UU for me: finally finished my Garnier Hydralock handcream. I'd cut it open weeks ago and it had turned clear and sticky, so I thought I'd use it up on my legs. Unfortunately, they itched like crazy and I had to wash it off straight away! It's a good handcream though - sinks in and moisturises well. Unfortunately it has a really sweet, apple like scent that I dislike (not as much as the S&G one though!).

I've also nearly used up my fave eyeliner. :( There's 3 for 2 at Superdrug for GOSH make up and I'm very tempted to buy 3 eyeliners, but I guess they would go off before I finished them all. Hmm... I shall ponder it over! :)

Another UU for me :) Palmers Original body butter. WIBIA probably not. I've had it for years and I ended up using it on my feet. Smells nice though!
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

Why not email their customer services about this? They need to know. You won't necessarily get any dosh back but at least you will feel a bit better :A

No use ups at the moment. Interested to read about the tips for washing hair and immediately thought about my really long hair and thought oops think I've been doing it wrong!

I forgot to buy the Telegragh to get the voucher but I dont really need any Body Shop moisturisers - offer or no offer. I do need some Clarins cleansers so if anyone knows any offers please let me know.

I think I may be on roll, cut the end off an Avon hand cream to use the dregs and can't believe there must be about 1/3 tube still in it!
I did this tyhe other week with a moisturiser and found a similar amount, what a lot I must have wasted previously!

I did that with my last Avon handcream and got about another weeks worth out of it. Not sure if I'll do it with this one as it doesn't smell quite as nice and I'll probably be glad just to get rid of it :rotfl:
