I recieved my park vouchers yesterday, so hopefully this is just a IT problem, but i for one wont be using any hamper firm next year.
I went and spent the vouchers within hours of getting them, just to make sure nothing goes wrong.
I am so sorry for all the people who have been effected by this.

  • Do you think that anyone will be using these firms for christmas anymore?
I was tempted this year but was never organised enough, glad i wasnt really.
My heart goes out to those that have had problems though..

I advise never use the AOL Broswer to surf the net. use Firefox its a lot better and safer.

I used Park this year and got my vouchers 8th October, I cannot fault the service in any way and I have had no problem spending the vouchers. I was also a agent and the commission and bonus were good.

However, a week ago I opened a new bank account with a high interest rate providing I do not withdrawn any money in the year, for next christmas with the first payment going in 1st November. I will not use one these firms again.
  • I've been posting in the other Farepak thread, and only just seen this one, so a quick introduction. Up until the end of July, I worked for Park. I was in the IT department of the part of the business that got sold. I'm in contact with some of the guys that I know there on a daily basis (7 years in a company leaves you with friends :D ), and here's the gist of whats happening there.

As you can imagine, EVERYBODY is trying to contact them; there's THOUSANDS of phone calls going on and the servers / connection did indeed throw up the white flag under the sheer volume of traffic.

The reactions and opinions voiced in this thread seem to be typical of the ones that they are getting; confidence has dropped, and people are wanting to get out. Which is a shame, as the Park directors have been dropping the parts of the business that have been underperforming, and concentrating on what they have traditionally been best at - hampers.

The staff there are genuinely devastated by what has happened to Farepak's customers, and are pretty worried for their own futures.

Assuming they weather this storm, Park should have no problems at all. One of the Directors has recently bought 10000 more shares in the company, not something that would happen if they were aware of any problems.
