The suite is not the eco it is Naples. On the basis I am probably looking to be out of this house within 2 years, what would be your opinion of the Moods brand?

I shall ask the more expensive quote to use the Moods suite and see what he says.

    Cheers

Any good installer would refuse to fit this junk

The Moods brand is made by the PJH group who also make the suites for B&Q

Customers should look at the bigger picture and not the bottom line, If hes supplying cheap suite and tiles then i would suspect the rest of the fit out materials will also be bottom of the barrel

  • Keystone/Andyhop, thanks for your input to this thread - it has been a revelation to me  (and I only came across it because I was trying to get an idea of plastering costs).

I was under the impression that Carron was a good make. Thinking about it though, it was probably only the Carron brochure that gave me that impression. Can you tell me what you think of Aquaelista's (sp?) Aquamaxx baths? I am after a 750mm overall width shower bath, one with straight sides rather than a 'P' shape, which would take it over the width I need. Unfortunately, there are very few of these types available.

Also, would you say that Hansgrohe was the best where shower mixers are concerned?

I'm finding fitting out my new bath and cloakroom very hard as I know nothing about such things.

    Thanks for any replies :).

    Hope

The way I did it was to find a good, local builder and agree a price for labour, then Day 1 was a day trip to a big warehouse, with him and his trailer - I went round and picked what I fancied and he trotted along to pick up all the fixings/piping etc needed. I paid the bill. We then had lunch and drove back to unpack everything. He started the actual work on Day 2.

    It worked for me.

That is very kind of you to ask, thank you! :) The second guy came round last night, he said he will price everything up and let me know, but that the earliest he could do it is mid January. That is ok with me.

I have already chosen tiles, toilet, sink, bath, all I need to make up my mind on is the shower, will look at the ones recommended on this thread.

Stone/travertine is very classy, great choice. I had it in my previous house, loved it. This time I am going for black for a change. Hopefully I can afford underfloor heating, that would be fab :j
Will let you know what the second quote is, if not I might call your guy

Went to see the work of the plumber this weekend and was very happy with what he has done (as was the homeowner). The suite he showed me is the same one as im getting and the tiles similar style I also asked the more expensive plumber to go like for like with suites and he knocked off £500 so the original cheaper quote is still much better.

How have you been getting on?
  • Only just got my second quote of £3700. That fits my budget and I have seen examples of his work at a friend's house. He is starting mid Jan
