Combat the Christmas Crush with the NSD challenge

Been to the taste of Xmas, glad I didn't pay for tickets, I'd have been very annoyed. Lots of little bits of cheese, a few mouthfulls of wine and that was about it. Couldn't get near the few demonstrations that were there, just too many people trying to see them. All in all, apart from the money off vouchers that I managed to grab off of a few stalls it was a bit of a letdown.
Well at least I can declare today my first nsd of the month. Only thing I spent was my £5 currys voucher which got me a hand blender.:j:j Might make some soup soon
Hope everyone has had a good day0 -

I'm declaring NSD # 3 for today.
OH took me to Mr A and I used some of my Christmas savings card to buy us each a set of cosy jammies and new slippers for OH. Spent £29 but it doesnt count as the money was already "spent" leaves us £120 for Christmas food, which is more than enough and I also have our weekly grocery budget too.
Love my new jammies - they're fleecy and spotty, yay!
We then went to the library to return books and then to my sister's and had coffee and the scrummiest fudge - white chocolate and cranberry OMG! To die for! One of her class's parents ( she's a teacher) has a fudge business and gives her freebies, lucky thing!
I was trying to get all my errands done as the streets are still thick with snow, so I aint going anywhere tomorrow, other than dropping OH off. Yes folks, he's off to London tomorrow , again!
Hope you're all having a good Sunday:)

jinty - hope your OH gets back down to London without too much trouble this week!! How's your snow doing?? It's bad up there...my MIL lives in Kirkcaldy and little bruv near Kinross...and they have had it quite bad...Dad isn't too bad near Wick though...but then he's right by the sea and the gulf !!!!!! - every little helps!
Almost ashamed to say we have only had an inch or so of snow here, and been above zero for most of the weekend...we have even had a bit of rain! Looks like the big freeze is back on again this next week though!!
Out tomorrow working and shopping, then hunkering down at home for the rest of the week...really need to get all these Xmas pressies and cards done!!!
Almost forgot to say...NDS no 3 and 4 over the weekend Spoon :j Really pleased so far (just don't look at how much I spent on Friday).
Have a good evening everyone and cozy up for the weekend ahead.

Declaring today as NSD #2 :T
Went out for dinner (DD asked me to join her, her OH, my GDs, DS2 and my parents at a carvery as it was her birthday on Thursday), but my Dad paid for it all (including drinks)Wasn't sure I was going to make it as I won't drive in snow/ice, and we had rain yesterday afternoon which started melting the snow - and then a lovely cold fog settled in, so I had to wait until this morning to see if it had iced it all back up again
Roads were still clear of snow/ice, but I hit some nasty patches of fog on the way up to them - and couldn't believe the number of drivers (especially on the m/way stretch) who had no lights on at all !!!
Came straight home from the meal (much to DD's disgust - think she'd expected me to go back to hers), and I'm glad I did. The fog was getting much worse and more widespread (and there were still drivers with no lights even while I was listening to pleas on a local radio station for drivers to 'turn them on'), so I would have liked the drive home in the dark and fog even less had I stayed until later
Latest news on my freezer stockpile is that I've 'meal planned' (loosely) for the next 52 weeks starting from tomorrow!!! I've allocated meals to each week, but will decide closer to the time (and depending on how I feel) which day I have what - and once I have races booked into my calendars I'll probably have to chop-and-change meals around those so I have a high enough calorie intake those weeks.
I still have 17 days to find something for (shouldn't be a problem once I finish the inventory of my cupboards and boxes), and already have about 52 meals that don't include anything (or very, very little - probably just veg that will be bought throughout the year) from the freezers.
But I'll have to re-think a few extra to that, as I'll use more than planned during Christmas week. My milk monster still thinks I shouldn't be alone over the seasonal period, but now says he never threatened to come home for the full Uni holiday. So he's coming down on 19th, and will go back on 26th - the week being based around the return date as I was already planning (weather permitting) on going up to visit DD, GDs and parents that day, so I can drive him back instead of him having to fight with trains mid-week. (He did initially suggest Wed to Wed).
Just over half of the 'non freezer' meals (32 of them) and all the gaps are in the second half of the 'meal plan', so I reckon by the latter part of June I can start picking up selective meat/fish/pie Whoopsies again to get me to the end of Dec 2011 (no meal plan yet for the last 4 weeks of the year, so looking at needing 45 days plus however many days I end up feeding DS2 for over the year to get to that point).Cheryl0 -
