OP dont worry, Argos r shady characters. Their 'extra warranty' trash they flog to every customer is useless on a kettle, as apparently 'the 'button isnt part of the manufacture'. i was larfin till i realised the !!!! was serious and refused to give the lady a refund for the kettle and warranty.

so that tells u how they operate.
