Do any other shops apply this rule which exempts mp3 players from their 30 day return policy?
Got an ipod touch there thinking I got a bargain only to get it home and find it was gen 3 not 4, meant nowt to me but my son (who I got it for xmas for) keeps going on about how cool the camera functions are.
Took it back to upgrade, still in box with receipt etc only to be told 'no can do', seems daft when they wont let you spend more money! :-x

I think anything with memory storage is exempt from returns, just in case you've downloaded your dodgy porno movies onto it.Here I go again on my own....0

Try taking it back to a different store and see what they say. It took me three months to get a refund on a dodgy sat-nav but they usually give in if you persevere.0

I doubt if a different store will be any help as this returns exclusion is shown in their T&C's, so I'm sure that as soon as one of the assistants taps the number into their till, it will not allow them to continue to give the refund.0

We bought DS a new Ipod Nano last Friday and we were specifically told by the assistant that they do not accept returns on them unless the item is faulty.Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0

Maybe yours could have an intermittent fault which comes and goes;) Of course with Christmas coming you wouldn't want to wait for a replacement so you would just pay the extra and upgrade - of course you might have to try a different store to where you purchased in case they remembered you.0 -

Lying at best. Deception at worst.0 -
OP has the right under the sercret EU laws that gives her recompence for having short pockets and long arms. She should ring Trading Standards and get the police in there to treach their staff a lesson, 4 weeks in the slammer would not go a miss and we, the proletriat should rape the place in the name of the redistribution of wealth.0

Its along shot, but may be worth asking to speak to the manager, playthe daft parent card, ie - us oldies know nothing about technology etc etc and junior as done nothing but rave about this product, you didn't realise the difference but you would pay the extra.
