With BA now officially joining forces with Iberia that should be the shorthaul flights that they didn't manage to fly last strike sorted this time.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Flying to Lisbon. The only flights that day are BA

I take it you mean that the most convenient flights for you are with BA?
    Gone ... or have I?
  • For those who have booked to New York, Los Angeles and other long haul flights I shouldn't worry too much. I too recently booked with BA to go to San Francisco and back from Las Vegas however before doing so I looked at previous strike action. Generally they will cancel any flights where there are multiple flights a day where there is empty space and move everyone on to the other flight or short haul flights where there are more alternative flights or ways of getting there.

Long haul should be fairly secure.

Given that they will do their cause and their employer nothing but harm, one has to wonder just who the union leaders are working for.

icon7.gifTransfer from Newark airport to The Wellington on 7th Avenue.
    Please advise :)

Myself and Partner are 1st timers to New York so any advise will be welcomed!

Flying into Newark Saturday (Afternoon) March 26th. We would like advise if poss on reliable (cost effective) transfers. I have read about this transfer:
    http://www.viator.com/tours/New-York...-2928NYCAPTHTL

Price worked out at £25.00 pp Return.

Has anyone used this shuttle? Is this good or would a yellow cab from and to airport be better?

Also as mentioned above we are staying at the Wellington on 7th Avenue - Have read some very mixed reviews so hope booking Wellington was not a mistake! Anybody know it? Price was within our budget range.

Flights with BA from Manchester - Heathrow - Newark x 2
Plus Wellington Hotel for 3 nights (double Room)
    Plus Travel Insurance

    Price £1200

I haggled with 2 different travel agents to get this price so hope it was good!

Many thanks in advance for any (much appreciated) replies

Great something else to worry about BA strikes!

Can you recommend any insurance policies that cover this?

    Thanks

Direct Travel are one, but I'm sure they are not the only one. Perhaps some of the cheap policies don't cover industrial action, but the better policies should.

Click on Travel or Insurance at the top of the forum or CLICK HERE for suggestions of companies to try with links.

You will need to read the policy wording and look for Industrial Action.

Thanks rather than searching for another policy, I remembered I had annual cover for Europe, which I upgraded for a small amount to worldwide cover.

The sales clerk said I would be covered as policy taken out before strike dates announced.

Also a reminder to all that travel insurance prices are increasing next week or so.. I was told Martin said so :)

Between UNITE's stupidity and BA imposing yet another fuel surcharge you wonder if anyone wants this company to survive.
