    Interested in how you rate the full version of AVG, (the paid for version) not that I use it.

    I use Kaspersky Pure on my systems, having upgraded from Kaspersky 2011 Internet Suite a few weeks ago when Play were selling Pure at £17.99 for 3 licences.

    Mac's don't need any AV protection :D
    But I do have a laptop with Kaspersky on it (free with Barclays online banking). Of the other free ones, I would rate Avira highest.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    AVG firewall should NEVER be used. Its full of holes and is less safe than using windows firewall

    Its probably best to disable AVG first (Though doesnt matter if you cant)

    Been hearing about how AVG was becoming less that useful, but....I had free AVG until a couple of day ago. Got a message a few days before that saying there was the new version available. Was a bit suspicious about it so ignored it but go the message again the next day. So decided to download the newer version. (It used to be on the Polish Grisoft domain- but now in AVG domain ??) Then I get a message to say that it didn't install properly and a message from windows saying that I had no anti-virus on my computer at all. Had a look in the program files etc and in CCleaner and what do you know- the old version had totally been removed and the new version was nowhere in sight.
    Downloaded the free Microsoft Security Essentials and quite chuffed with it actually.
    No more AVG for me.

    I would wait for Rik but I'd get rid of Kontiki , I guess you used BBC iplayer ages ago before they stopped using Kontiki. Anyhows wait for the real experts
