my partner was also informed that the babys picture would have to be taken by bounty for "security purposes" dont know if that had anything to do with this but these were the only people who too k her photo.0

Had a similar thing with photos being taken when DS was born- was told if I didn't like them no problem, just send back and that's it.
The photos came and DS looked like he had green hair and they were not good at all, so I decided to send back. As it was I had to pay for this (and thankfully no snow so could do this easily). Also included a letter telling them how the woman had pushed her way into taking the photos, made no mention of them being sent back at my expense, and enclosed a photo showing that the little hair my son did have was dark blondy/brown (not green!). As it was they sent me a whole new set, apologised for the greeness, and said that there was no charge payable- so basically I got my pics for free!
Anyhow, my advice would be to wait until someone can get to PO and post them, include a letter stating you posted as soon as you were able, and point out how dissappointed you were with the way they have dealt with you so far (incl having to pay for return post etc).
Enjoy your baby- you won't get those days back, and forget about the pics until you are able to get out and post!
Grrrr at those silly aggressive companies!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Rightly so. It's to stop them committing any crimes (they start so young these days!). They fingerprint them too. In fact, some hospitals offer micro-chipping at birth now."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
i actually feel as if we were duped into thinking we had to have these photos taken. it was nothing to do with security at all was it? just a money making excersise from a rather unscrupulous firm?0
-
Theres a simple answer to that one, if you feel duped send them back "FREEPOST", if they go missing in the post as a result, its not as if you asked for them to be posted to you, its not your problem.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I would email the company, saying that you didn't order the prints & they are available for them to collect. Advise that you are snowbound but will let them know when it clears & they can send a courier to collect at their expense.
I bet most new Mums are too caught up with important things then sending back carp pictures & end up paying £50.0 -

That's good advice. Treat them like unsolicited goods: you don't want them but you're happy to keep them safe until such time as they're collected. At the company's effort and expense. Not yours. If they don't collect them within 30 days, they're legally yours to keep for free (provided you've told them to come and get them)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
These marketing firms really wind me up. At my hospital we have the photographers, people who make baby footprints in plaster of paris and the predatory "Bounty" people who seduce new mums with their freebie "Bounty Packs" which are usually full of bits of paper and one teeny tiny free sample of Sudocream. They tell you to send off for all the money-off vouchers which means that you get one voucher for £1.00 off nappies and a lifetime of junk mail. AND they have your baby's name, address and date of birth.
Please don't even think about keeping and paying for these carp pictures. You didn't request them, you had just given birth so were in no state to enter into any kind of contract and they haven't even got your name right so they will have absolutely no redress in a court. Wait until the weather gets better and send them back then. Or as others said, tell them to come and pick the photos up. You have better things to be worrying about at the moment, I'm sure"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
We was fortunate, as our Baby was in special care, where no photographers are allowed.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Can you not ask your health visitor to post them back on your behalf? Are there any neighbours who would run an errand? Family? Friends?0
