Seems to depend on the branch Math. My branch has never taken internet vouchers but will take pretty much any value of other coupons. Others have not had such good experiences recently. Maybe try handlng over a mix with a couple of legit ones on top?
I check fixtureferrets for the best deals on cheese (which is always on BOGOF somewhere) & pet food plus any other specifics, then I have a Morrisons & a Sainsburys which I visit in my lunch hours the 2 days before my fortnightly shopping trip & see what I can pick up there at less than the anticipated cost on my list then everything else comes from Tesco on a Wednesday night and it's all done & dusted for another 10 days or so. I do think using a range of supermarkets can benefit you if you have them locally & can resist the temptation of unplanned purchases.

    Thanks for that:)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Savvy Shopper!
Ok, I started yesterday, did my shop for the week which came to £31. I have a separate purse and have withdrawn the cash and I'm hoping it will help me to get even better value for money than before. Good luck with your challenges :)

  • I have to shop around in big round as I have to make a car journey and I do it when I'm on my own - cheaper and less hassle. I usually do a big shop all in one day - take my list and I'm in and out very quickly!
As for coupons my tesco take a maximum of 6 so luckily I had 6 quite high value coupons and that added up to over 7 pounds :)
If I've got low value coupons I cut the shopping into smaller chunks!
  • Hi been reading this thread for the last few days and am feeling inspired to get more organised and cut my shopping budget. My problem seems to be that I've got access to Sainsburys, Asda, Co-op and Tesco which often results in me not being able to resist unnecessary "bargains", can anyone help or advice.

Well, I did my main fortnightly shop last light and spent £43.46 (2 adults, 1 bump, 1 cat & 1 dog) but after BOGOF's & coupons the total came down to £29.82, I have spent a total of £36.81 out of £43 allowed so far this month (started on 23rd Feb). I won't need to go shopping again until 16th but my list is already started as I have my meals planned & know some of what I'll need, so if I happen to see anything on it reduced I can pick it up early.

  • The bargains at the major supermarkets will come round again so don't feel panicked into buying them. If its something you will use within the next week get it, but just think if it wasn't on offer would i be buying it anyway? Don't be too rigid with your list if theres something that you will use on offer but is not on your list get it, sometimes you will absorb that extra cost somewhere in your shopping if there are bogofs.

    It really is annoying!
  • Does anyone else find Wilko cheaper for household chemicals/toiletries?
We have decided to use our local butcher/greengrocer (sometimes more expensive, but, butchers especially, the quality is outstanding, would never go back to supermarket meat now. Although, i am a chef, so maybe that has something to do with it!
wifey is sceptical that Tesco/Asda online shopping with vouchers is going to be cheaper once a month than Morrisons, who have just opened up near us and who she loves, as she is certain that a shop there, in general is cheaper than Tescos/Asda....any suggestions or opinions on that or the wilko chemical/toiletries things?
cheers, I want to join in!!

Have never used either, not got a Netto anywhere near us but I think there is a farm foods near hubby's work so will have to send him in to investigate! At that price it sounds a bit too good to be true?
Someone else asked about Wilko's for toilteries & cleaning supplies? I find them much cheaper for toilteries, especially deodorant & bars of soap.
