In a way I have to agree with magic pants.... although you can't 'lose money' I still see it as gambling...

Fair play to those of you who have made a killing on it though :D

You can spin it any way you like but gambling is gambling and those with huge debts are walking a thin tightrope if they think that this is the way out of it.

No, matched betting is by definition not gambling, and anyone trying to deny people - whether in debt or not - the chance to make thousands of pounds is not being particularly helpful.

For some people there seems to be a huge stigma attached to betting and that's up to them, but I think of matched betting as a very lucrative second (or for some people main) job which can be done from home, has very flexible hours, no boss to annoy you and no tax to pay on your earnings :)

I read it once, it made no sense. Then one day i was mulling it over, while brushing my teeth or something, and it made some sense, then i read it some more and it made more sense. Then i looked at betfair, and got all confused again...

Ok...tried brushing my teeth and i still cant figure it out:confused: :rotfl:

Go to the Teeth Brushing Introductory Loopholes board to find out how much toothpaste to use and how many times to move the brush up and down ;)

And to me it seems to be significantly more profitable than e-bay (well I dont have much worth anything), pigsback/quidco searches etc. Its easier than a second job because if nothing else I can do it while watching TV in my PJs and drinking alcohol/eating chocolate biscuits ;) .

Personally I couldnt make an income from it but its a nice extra income that should help me pay off my car loan and then pay for a new bathroom (then being DF of course).

Well, brushing my teeth didn't totally explain it. Try the washing up instead...

And if anybody needs the practice and cleaning things seems to work - my car could do with a wash and I will rent it out for cleaning if required :D .

    Please supply own cleaning materials

Yes and without wanting to knock eBaying which seems to help many people here, in a way it can be a bit of a gamble in itself with dodgy buyers etc.
