Wow, you must be psychic, that is what I ordered... cream towels with the gold writing, and dressing gowns to match... I really hope the order is confirmed and posted out in a Harrods box!!!
Thanks for sharing this!:)0 -

I saw them last week in the sale section online, I told my Mum about them and so when we eventually found the towel section ( I think second floor homewear....maybe I went all over from fifth floor all the way to ground!) We got the hand towels which are a lovely size and I think it was the bath towels, not the really big ones but the smaller wrap around ones. Lovely quality, I'm sure you will like them!0 -
Then again there are reports of them falsely claiming items are out-of-stock when they are in stock because they don't wish to honor the code. That's not acceptable and warrants a complaint. I'm interested to see how this will pan out, whether the issue will be raised with consumer organizations/programmes -- because some of the experiences I've heard of suggest Harrods are not being 100% above board about this promotion.0

so i ordered two lots of stuff on monday before 1pm using the code and surprise surprise i start recieving emails today telling me that each item is out of stock, an email every so often to say that part of the order is unavailable, resulting in there being nothing left to deliver. bit suspect to me! especially seeing as their ordering system seems to be 'live' and if i paid for next day delivery i expect it the next day not to be told two days later that things are out of stock. im a bit suspicious, not really sure what to do now but im not really happy with harrods and dont think they are being completely honest!0

If it is true though then what can they do? I suggest you write to them to ask if them can honour the deal when the items are BACK IN STOCK.
If they say no, then well complain all you like. But if they don't want to/can't honour it then they won't. They do have new owners though (Harrods) so maybe if you threaten bad publicity then they would honour for you.
I suppose they didn't realise or anticipate just how popular this deal would be.0 -

Sorry to hear you've had issues with them. Write a letter, send it registered. This will only be addressed if people complain about poor service and cancelled orders.
I agree with what was said above: why can't they just ship when it is back in stock? Perhaps more people should suggest they do this and honor the discount code. If they didn't want to give people bargains and deliver the goods, they shouldn't have offered the code.0 -

This in stock-out-of-stock is not just limited to this offer, weeks and weeks ago I ordered hunter wellies and socks, all ordered ok, it took 5 days to inform me these items were out of stock and they were sorry and it might be 2-3 weeks before being in stock and then for me to re-order. They are still out of stock.0 -
i havent had a single email since my order on the 28th. nothing to tell me that one of my items is out of stock - which says on my online account. it says delivery created on 2 items but thats been there for 48 hours now lol no idea whats going on at all. am going to have to ring them tomorrow.Top wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0

I wonder whether BBC consumer affairs programme Watchdog should be informed of this problem? I'm sure they'd be very interested in the number of complaints about this high profile company. Watchdog have a website, if anyone wants to email them.
Emailing Harrods repeatedly probably won't do much good; letters get more attention.
I think people who want a decent explanation and/or their goods might have to take this further i.e., go to a consumer affairs group. I don't entirely believe the out-of-stock excuse for some items -- I know for certain that the ones I ordered are in stock.0 -

May you have better luck on their phoneline than I did. They are evasive and unhelpful when confronted with complaints. They promise to call back and don't and can't confirm whether items will be sent or not. It's frustrating.
For such a famous name, they're really offering shoddy service. Never had such appalling service from a big name store.0
