Well thanks for not giving me any advice everyone.
never mind bout the satilite any way lol.
I phoned up telewest yeterday and asked for the router and adapter, the LADY said there is a problem with them and they havn't got anymore, so i couldn't have one, but i then went on to say that sky and aol are doing better offers and i may consider leaving telewest, then she proceeded to tell me that that the routers would be available again in 2 weeks, so i said can i put my name down for one now then, she yes i will put a note on the computer for you, and you will be sent one in two weeks time, i then asked bout the adpter and she said i had to £20 for one, so i am just getting the router, but i don't think i need an adapters anyway. :T0 -
I have been with telewest for a number of years now. Just rang them to enquire about the router, I was told they have just been informed that internet explorer are bringing out a new version and it may not be compatible, they may resume it again in two to three weeks. When I asked for a note to be put on my account too send one out when available, I was told this was not possible. after much insistance she agreed to do it, wether or not she did I do not know. I have been thinking about changing for some time, this could just tip the balance. He who laughs last thinks slowest.
I wished the buck stopped here as I could use a few.
Why do Americans sing "Take me out to the ball game" when they
are already there?0 -

parsnips wrote:just rang them about this and you have to have 4mb broadband up to get the free router,
if your like me and are only on the 2mb, you need to upgrade to the 4mb which means taking out another 12 month contract,
if your not on broadband, its £25 a month
I rang and they told me the wireless router was not compatible with microsoft so no one can get it at the moment but told me to ring back in a week, but didnt say you needed 4mb but its not a widespread offer its just a selected few. (or so they told me!!!):rolleyes:Roll on spring, I hate the cold weather:(

I phoned for my free router on 29/10/06 and was told " will be dispatched in 3-5 days"
Today, having still not received my router I gave TW a call.
Me: I havn't received my free router
Nice lady: I'm sorry, these are faulty and have been withdrawn. I'll credit your account with £20 for inconveniance and tell you where to buy one.
Me: I'm quite pc savvy and can get a router etc... when will you be re supplying routers.
Nice lady: sorry, were not continuing the offer.
Me: Oh, ok... other ISP's such as SKY Television offer quite a good deal, I may consider moving to them.
Nice lady: ok, but while you consider I will reduce you broadband payments by £8.50 per month, your TV payments by £3.50 per month and your Telephone by £1 per month for the next 12 months without being tied to a new contract.
Me: Thank you very much. I will take my time with my consideration as your service so far has been excellent.
I'm happy!

You sure are lucky that you didn't get the router, your bargining power got you a way better deal. That's why I thought this router deal was a joke.
If it was a free router without being tied down to a contract, then it would be a legitiment deal. I'm actually more surprised that they stopped the deal, as I would have tried anything to get customer to new contracts.0
