Assuming you are on the Billericay exchange then the LLU operators available to you are:-

    AOL: Enabled

    C&W / Bulldog: Enabled as of 13/05/2006

    Orange: Enabled as of 26/09/2008

Sky / Easynet: Enabled as of 10/09/2006

    TalkTalk (CPW): Enabled

What speed you get will depend on the length of line from the exchange.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

The is no way on this earth you will get 20Mb..Speed is dependent on the age of the line from the exchange to the master socket & also the line distance.

    Put your phone number in here & it will tell you the speed you will get;

i would say go for Sky out of your options listed (if they are actually correct) as the LLU service is generally good and it is truely unlimited as far as i have been able to push it, all the other options have FUP or a set limit on your data usage, which if you are actually a heavy user will seriously restrict you.

just remember any product you get will be up to the advertised speed, and you will only ever get really close to that maximum speed if you are within 500m of the exchange and then will start to drop of speed the further you get away from the exchange (and thats 500m of cable not stright line distance as the cable will be much longer as it has to take into account going around the roads and around house's etc) - this is the same with all ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ services which you can get,

if it is correct and you are ~1500m from the exchange i would say (and please note this is a complete guess and just going on my own line which states 1700m from the exchange) that you should hope for between 8mb and 12mb throughput, however this could be completely wrong as the wiring too your house could be very bad and so would give you a very bad connection and much lower speeds - if this is the case no company would be able to make this better
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Thanks for your info I will consider a sky package but I still am wondering if bt infinity would be a better service I know it wont be cheap but I dont mind paying if it will be much better as we are heavy users.

The's a link to an alternative postcode & address checker in that link too.

Click the link 'ADSL Availability Checker' & the are options in the resulting pop up.
  • my thanks to penrhyn and spike
I've done all the checks with samknows using the postcode thats how I got the distance from the exchange to the house, but I think from what you have been posting I need to do a check using the phone number which I my not get unto I move in and also need to have a service that dont slow down heavy users.
