    Evening!

While tests sound scary, they are (to me anyway) a good ice breaker in a weird way as you get to spend a few minutes thinking rather than talking/staring like a rabbit caught in headlights...I actually quite like interviews that involve some written aspect!

Planning some re-potting of coriander at the weekend as cats finally killed off last poor little plants and I have a pretty new pot to use!

Well done on the interview Pippi :j, good luck with it all...you'll be fine I'm sure.

Dare I ask how the thesis is getting on? At least you are at the stage of having written it and now revising/editing it. Easier to work on what's already there than still thinking up stuff! I find when coming back to stuff, I can often think of a better way of writing/presenting it. Mind you, you have to drawn the line eventually, or you could be there forever :D

Well done too on sorting the washing machine, but it's great that the kids are trying to do things for themselves.

..... Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can locate a cheapy mint plant? New potatoes require it, as do mojitos...

(Mojitos are an MSE drinkie, honest! Rum was a gift, 17p fizzy water from T*sco, cheap mint if I can find any, sugar and lime juice that were on offer... promise!)
lotti, try the veg area of supermarkets...they quite often have pots of herbs...check out the reduced area..that's where I got mine. Much cheaper than garden centres! :D Then pot it on and again give it a hair-cut like Pippi says. If you do want to plant it out, keep it in a pot which you can bury, as mint has a tendency to take over!!! Just remember mint prefers it damper than most herbs, so don't be too mean with the water.

Hello to everyone else, been busy for the past couple of days, so have lots to catch up on here in MSE-land.

Need to do a stock-take on the freezer this morning so I can make a sensible (and reduced) shopping list. Also need to get the next batch of bread started...on our last few slices now.

DH is back from the US, a bit jet-lagged, but gone into work for a bit. He is due for a day off as he travelled out on Sunday, but he wants to choose a day where he can do something other than sleep!

Have a great day, another bank-holiday weekend. No more until August now though...:(

    Hello all
Just a quick visit as it's a bit chaotic. My Mum is out of hospital and gets her biopsy results next week.
My Dad's leg which spurted blood just as Mum was about to go to hospital stopped bleeding but doctor horrified at one of his veins so has to have an op. The famous lump has been removed from my eye but 'We are delighted to say it was benign on this occasion but we didn't get all of it so we are sending you off to self monitor and you must come back if it returns!'.
Big stretch off wrecked fence being torn out and replaced by Housing association who own the neighbouring property, I can't bear to look what they are doing.
Hope you are all staggering on ok.

good luck for the interview Pippi, great news about the floating bank account, ummm news about the washing machine breaker-in-ing skills.
feels like ages since i've been on here, and it probably is compared to normal, just have to blame the decorating, but we're almost finished, just starting to sell of excess things.
