Not as horrific as it sounds alot of them (most I hope) are in refworks (online thingmy).

If you don't iron, think of the potential GHG savings to the planet :) and the moneysaving potential too - you'd be great on both of those. what's GHG???

Then you can NOT do it and feel noble. i like that idea

What did you study (if you've told me before I'm sorry if I forgot!)

i studied Sports Science (please don't laugh. yes it is an actual degree course ;))

I'm not laughing - sorry GHG (green house gases) like carbon dioxide etc which are emitted when they normally make your electricity (for your iron) unless its from renewables.

On the other hand if you've a solar powered iron - I can't make that arguement.

I'm very keen to save the planet - therefore as part of my own carbon management plan to reduce green house gases I don't iron!!!

    :)

I do feel very noble for giving up this pursuit to help the planet!!!!! (laughing alot here)

You did tell me that before - it does sound interesting!!

OH just come and asked if 'windiness' is really a word - lol - I have the papers to prove it - and I'm not talking about pumping or trumping by the way - wind as in climate not wind as in beans!

Half way through a chapter - progress slow but progress nevertheless.

Green house gases of course. i was thinking along the lines of carbon something but couldn't think of anything beginning with G.

not got a solar powered iron so will have to give it up. it's my duty to future generations ;) :rotfl:

my sister claims windiness is not a word

And hurrah for your effort for the future generation

Using the Relationship between Rate of Tatter and Topographic Variables to Predict Site Windiness in Upland Britain

Forestry Authority, Northern Research Station Roslin, Midlothian, EH25 9SY, Scotland
    Abstract

Tatter flags have been used for more than 30 years to measure wind exposure of forest sites in upland Britain. A re-analysis of tatter flag data from 1111 sites was performed to investigate factors influencing site windiness. At each location flags had been flown for periods of 2 months, and six consecutive bimonthly readings were combined to provide an annual estimate of tatter. Average daily tatter rate was related to geographic position, aspect, elevation, topex, valley shape and valley direction..................................................................................................

    Love the Windiness reference!! :rotfl:

Long ago remember doing my Masters thesis (1983-85) ...had a computer to type it in, but nothing like reference progs or even wizards in Word... Word was only born in 1984!. So good luck with it all Pippi.

Still no real rain here, just a few spits and spots. Definitely breezy though!! So the washing is drying weel, apologies to those with rain and damp clothes :o

Managed to pot up all the sweetcorn, courgettes, squash and swiss chard up this morning. Next have lettuces and mixed leaves to do. I like to put them into plug-trays so I can space them out and have some in among the flowers too. DH has been weeding the front brick path this morning, bless him, it's looking sooo much better. Now we've had lunch, we are off to get the wires set up for the cordon apples. Picked up amazing kit yesterday to attach
wires to concrete fence posts, . Saves DH trying to drill into concrete!!!

Will pop back later and see how you all are.

Pippi, you are *such* a star! Solar powered irons, GHG and windiness and all :) I love what cheri wrote about drafts, but then sadly saw that your lot think it means final. Very bad news :(

I was just at a local fair, where the main stationery attraction was a collection of vintage vehicles, from before we knew there was trouble coming - including an old Morgan, and a Lancia (which I know about because of Top Gear, laughably).... it was fun!

KC Your day sounds like fun! Great you got out for a bit - go you with your top gear knowledge!

Had half an hour out at local recycling site planting up some tubs and back to it all now.

I can only do what I can do eh?

I think the iron thing might catch on, you'd only be able to iron on sunny days and surely that would put folk off!!

Keiss well done for getting so much done! And ace new about the way to put the fence up!

Great you got a break, even better that it was planting up.

I have done a further hour in the room of doom! I now have beds in there and everything :):j:j which means that I have now gained a lot of space in my living room where they were stored behind the sofa :j:j Think I might need another cup of tea.

    Back later

Lobbing a biccy your way too!

    :) back to the chapter...........................

Bank checked inbetween all DDs out tomorrow (£113 from that account leccy and hi) (£107 for tooth dr, mob and normal phone and BB from other account) - thankfully my dd's aren't very high anymore (thank you lot and martin) - and the rent is the biggie at the end of the month - got half a month to save up for that one (£542)

All OK in Royal (Fat controller) got £100 left of OD after putting another £65 extra to capital one cc which now <1500

    Need check other one now...........

OK Lloyds smufette central account has £200 in OD left - put £50 to lloyds cc - that bring that down to <700

Working on the free od/ to lower higher cc cos of not working really.

Thats the plan anyway - when CC down enough - get rid of OD's one by one.

    Well a girl can dream!
