Hope your head fucussed well today Pippi and you got lots done.

I like the idea of 2nd birthdays....mine is 5 weeks before Christmas, so usually gets lost in the melee of the Christmas preparations.

I have been asked to see if I can come up with ideas for a knitting/hand-crafting course at the college...a la Kirstie Allsop. This will be for beginners to knitting ostensibly (they have a sewing tutor), but I think a few other related crafts might be fun....funky yet functional. I can see stripes making an appearance! It will start in September, but I need to get my ideas formed now to make my pitch.

So I must get my thinking cap on...a great excuse to wade through many of my bookmarked pages on the computer! Think I will make some samples up to see how they go, and see if the people who matter (ie can give me the job!) like them too. :D

Problem is I am just getting immersed into quilting and patchwork too...off to my first group meeting on Wednesday...so need to try and finish off my first quilting attempt (a pot holder) before them.

Why oh why does everything come at once?! I am working all this week...though Friday I am (wo)manning a stall at the Malvern Spring Show for part of the day. I plan on going in before the gates open and wander round the floral and plant marquees when they are quiet and empty...bliss! I can see a few pennies flying out of my purse that day :rotfl:.

Have a great week everyone...I can see I am going to have to reduce my visits to MSE so I can get everything else done...off to finish a curtain for DS2's room...then my quilting ...I hope!

Keiss, my friend sent me a book of patterns for knitted animal toys. She thinks that I should be able to do it. How about something along those lines - handmade christmas presents.

Pippi, glad your head is focussing :) By the way I loved the blog about BRB! Looks like lots of fun

    Hi all
Lump removed from eyelid yesterday. I've got to go back next week for biopsy results/removal of stitches. I look like I've been punched in the eye and feel much the same way. Supposed to be taking it easy but finding that hard. It sounds daft but because one eye is closed it's harder to keep the other one open. I think sleeping may be the answer.
    Hope you are all well

Thanks for the ideas folks...rag-rugs are a good idea Pippi, will investigate. Great news on getting paid for some of your planting..well done :T:T

Cherisong, I have quite a few books on toys etc...including some Xmas ones...must have a look through them and check how complicated they are. They will be fine for people who have knitted before, but a bit of a challenge for absolute beginners methinks. I will need patterns for a range of abilities, so will be useful.

Just popping in before getting tea done, then off to do my first ever quilting. I had planned to get it done last night, but my lil Sis rang just as the needle went into the fabric for the first stitch!!

I want to make a go of this, my first quilted patchwork pot-holder, before going along to a quilting group tomorrow night. Not sure if I am expexcted to take stuff with me or if there are talks or what. So I will go prepared!! At least I can ask what they think of my attempt, and help me with any problems I might have.

Have a great evening everyone...off to help DH with the tea.
