Hi Pippi, I bet you're glad you're home. Hope everything is okay.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hya all, and more (((((hugs))))) to Pippi and family. It has been quite a sad and unsettling time for you all lately.
Soggy here today...rain at last!!! We had fantastic thunder and lightning last night, a bit close for comfort at times though. The garden will be so much happier now...and even beter if we get yet more rain over the next few days.
So indoors this weekend, tidying up and sorting through stuff. The house has been rather abandoned in the past couple of months while we worked on the garden.
Pleased to see pretty much all the seeds I sowed last weekend are up already!! The sweetcorn is breaking the surface and there are mounds in the pots with squash and courgettes. I love it when things grow so fast! Salads and herbs are romping away.
Managed to sell 15 tom and pepper plants on Wednesday...with possibly a few more going this next week. :j
Right off to see what DH and DS2 have found in our sideboard...it has been used as a glory-hole for years, so who know what they'll find. :rotfl:

Glad you are home Pippi.
I'm trying to dive out between showers to get some planting done. I've got to have surgery on monday to have a blood filled lump removed from my eyelid. It's been a real pain of late so can't wait to be honest but I suspect it will limit my gardening for a day or two so I want to get what I can do done.
I've gained some time having lost my Town Council seat yesterday, sad in many ways but I've also just had some bad news in that a close family member has cancer so my priorities have changed somewhat.#
It's my birthday today but it doesn't seem very important.
Sorry to moan.
If I moan at my seedlings but then give them a dose of 'Richard Jackson's young plant food' do you think they'll mind?0 -
((((greenval))) sorry to hear your news, both losing your seat and the news of your relative having cancer. I hope that they are getting the best treatment. If nothing else this kind of diagnosis does put your life into perspective and change priorities. I do think though that your birthday should be celebrated (even more so given the news). Take some time out to do something that makes your heart sing, whatever that may be and even if its only five minutes. I hope that you can enjoy some time. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

glad to see you around Greenval, sorry to hear you've had two lots of bad news, It's also my burfday soon and it feels like it's been cancelled
looked after my sisters kids today so i'm knackered and they were actually really good. I did also do about 8 loads of washing for her and you still couldn't see the bottom of the laundry pile - where the heck does it all come from? Needless to say i'm glad that the weather was sunny here today. It did rain overnight at mine (not at my sisters 10 miles away) but i don't think it's done much good. We need it to start now and rain until 9am tomorrow morning, then i can get down the lottie in the afternoon. Trying to be specific with my instructions to God in the hope that (s)he'll get the hint.0 -
Keiss/Cheri/ LT thank you all for your kind thoughts. I feel a bit better for having got out in the garden, it always helps doesn't it. My friend who is a really good artist has painted a picture of my garden in Autumn. She did a brilliant one of it in Winter with the snow for my birthday last year, Xmas present was the garden in summer. I now have Autumn and the Xmas present is to be the garden in Spring. They are really beautiful and lovely keepsakes.
Another friend has bought me Lavender body lotion so I'l spend some time using instead of my usual tendency to just throw myself in and out of the shower.
The 'Richard Jackson' plant foods were also a much appreciated present, hopefully very appreciated by my seedlings.
Thanks again for the support.0 -

Pippi i gave up trying to find the bottom of her laundry basket, it was an impossible task.
what you got planned today? i'm chilling as Mr LT is on a 12 hr shift and i don't think my sister is going to bother to turn up to do some scrapbooking. I've finally started watching The Promise that i recorded weeks ago, i'm hooked already and it's less than half an hour in.0 -
