Great Ebaying Pippi :jLemon_Tree wrote: »oh heck Maty, i really shouldn't know the exact location. I also work full time but my OH works shifts and my mum has possibly offered doggie daycare where necessary. but the whole full time thing is why we're holding off at the moment.
Pippi, that's quite a good sum of money from ebay in the last month, long may it continue. Thank you for the strawberry plants as well.
 I worked full time all my adult life, had a dog all of my adult life and for most of that 2 dogs! Most rescue centres say not to have a dog when you work full time. If you really want to share your life with a dog you can make it happen. After all, when I am not in work all my dogs do is sleep all day. Good long walks before and after work and they say a tired dog is a happy dog. That said my life is dictated by having a dog and I choose not to do lots of things that other people would think I am mad to miss out on. Dogs in this country can be a tie because you cant take them into shops, cafes, restaurants, theme parks, tourist attractions. So even if you take them on holiday it is a different kind of holiday. As I said to Fantasia on the matrix thread, if you really want one stop making excuses, if you carry on making excuses then you need to be honest and decide if it is because you love the idea but are afraid to commit just yet. Seems to me that isnt the issue because you have obviously thought through all the dog minding etc. I knew a girl that had 3 sausage dogs and they were adorable, funny, cuddly little things. Go for it. Sorry, I meant to help not lecture
I will get me coat :whistle:Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
cheri you're very right, both OH and i want a doggie so very much! I find it funny that people can be calmer about folk deciding they want a baby when they both work full time yet talk about a dog and people hit the roof. I do try hard to think about the life we could provide to a dog, plus we have two cats to work into the mix, though at the moment if their training doesn't improve they're out on their ears.0

I know exactly what you mean. I find that people think it is ok to judge others when it comes to working full time and having a dog and I would never dream of imparting my wisdom when it comes to having children. I did at one time have two dogs, two cats and a parrot and they were all well adjusted animals who got on just fine together. If you both want a dog then you will find a way to make it happen when the time is right for you both. I would say that from what you have said re OH working shifts and having the offer of doggie daycare you are preparing the ground well. Not all rescues refuse on the grounds of you working full time if they see what other arrangements are in place. Good luck with it.
Pippi, hope the writing is going ok.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Hello all
interesting stuff on here today
I thought long and hard before we got peedie - and of course before we hatched each of the children.
I have to say they are both as difficult to juggle as each other - at least the children have the added bonus of going to school during the day!!! Both are very worthwhile, LT you're right though - some folk don't think of it all before embarking on the great ship parenthood - whether its a puppy or a youngling.
Just back from more tree planting and sorting out willow cuttings for planting (they are soaking 24hours prior ot planting) so the cuttings are now out of the fridge!!hope you're all good
Trying to do more ebay listing before my windowsills cave under the strain
All my alpine strawbs are gone for this year - more at OH's which I'll grab when I'm down. Each year they provide a lovely bit of income - well a few beans anyway. All I do is look at them and wish them well!
Lucielle thank you for your planty order - everything in a little Lucielle 'bay' now all happy to know they are joining you in forgien climes!

Thanks Stripes, hope I don't make them go up to the big patch in the sky. The office plant is looking a little sad and I've only been looking after it for a day.

LT - I meant that Wood Green was a nice place to visit for a wander around
Spent many happy hours there over the years, especially when my nieces were small. A friend pup escaped from the garden a couple of weeks ago and ended up there overnight - she was delighted to get rescued the next morning and had created merry hell while trying to tell them she wasn't really homeless :rotfl:
I have known that I can't have a dog of my own as I am out of the house for at least 11 hours a day and it just wouldn't be fair. My plan, once I get my redundancy pay and a new job close to home is to get me a puppy :j Never again will I work such silly hours
Pippi - Well done on the planting :j:T:j:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Life brain dump need get it out
Money
A bit tight (in the manner of squeaky)
£15 left in one od (at least it's in limit)
£34 in other
All dd out this month - just and not over limit a bit juggly
Should have enough with next wtfc and bits for rent - oh helping, in curtains if required. In the manner of a safety net thank you oh xx
Bit squeaky - in the manner of a mouse like kangaroo - but hope it shrinks.
Thesis getting there, I'm slow- but hoping I can deliver a coherent and helpful document.
6weeks and counting! I WILL not study post grad stuff again, it's not or me I don't think although ve grown and learnt from it.
New garden work, scary, rewarding, exhausting and makes head think a lot. First time I've been out there alone working *professionally* wholly responsible and whilst it's been challenging it's rewarding, I think they are getting value for money (hope so) and I'm delivering. Over half way through - mainly on budget - and keeping track of time/task, materials etc. Feels weird to get paid to have the privilege of working in another garden.
I'm hoping I can bill before end of month, recoup material money. (will get deposit next time) thank you guys....xx
Kids great.

Aside that stuff we don't mention much now, thanks to you guys is just part of life!
Thank goodness.
Ccs both high but I've learnt, I've applied for a couple cleaning jobs and other bits to pay them off quicker.
Penguin chops loan - -gone on hold til I'm working better. Nice chap. Now and again (!)
So I've got about £50 quid
But rents saved for this month
